Well, the developer has all this code, he has to use it somewhere. Imagine if you were a skilled full-time programmer, how much code you could write for several years.

Strange, I don't hear the same thing being said about other "do all" synths.

As for the soul - just look at the little heart for preset saving, it's there!

You missed my point..

It's not about it having a lot of features, that is fine, it is about the way it is presented.

The output of each preset shows it best. I know Markus tweaks these personally, even if the sound designer did a fantastic job.

There's reverb on everything.. huge amounts. Everything is made big and very bright/annoying. Good thing his final output processing can be turned off, well kind of.

Then there are the graphics. Bloom. BLOOM!! Everywhere. 3D with razor sharp edges and way overdone raytraced lighting/shadows etc.

It's just all way overdone.. screaming at you. Look at me!!! Listen to me!!! I'm KICKASSS!!! (great movie btw.) It's almost comic, heck, it IS comic and I'd laugh unless I knew how seriously Tone2 takes themselves.

That was my point.

On second thought, perhaps it is a genius move? We do currently live the OMGZ!!! LOOXOZRS L00|< @ /\/\3! 1'/\/\ 1/\/\P0R74|\|7 4|\|D |\|33D 70 5|-|0U7 4LL 7|-|3 71/\/\3 4|\|D L00|< 3/\/\0!.. generation. So perhaps it is targeted correctly?

Q: Is this synth suitable as a sound design target?
A: Definitely! We have taken a lot of care on this aspect. There are huge possibilities. Custom samples and and wavetables are bundeled with the fxp file. 3rd party developers can even create installers for their soundset. You can create own categories (directories) and manage the content on your harddisc. The plugin automatically detects your pataches and lists them in the preset browser.

This is GREAT news.. but what happens if you "add" new features again that only manifest through additional "sound banks"? That'd completely kill the package. Please consider NOT doing it this way.. it splits the potential market.

Q. Will there be free Gladiator updates?
A: For the coming Gladiator update we already finished this:
- We successfully created a 64-bit version (GladiatorX64.dll) of Gladiator
- We successfully created a standalone version of Gladiator
The update, the 64-bit version and the standalone version will be free for all Gladiator2 users. We planed the update for January.
Beside of that we provided a free resynthesis tool for Gladiator in autumn. You can find it in the 'goodies' section within our forum.

My feelings also. Nothing is worse than a 10 minute "time out" demo, let alone the forced website visit. Huge turn off for me.

I wish there was an init preset, or an init button. I just want a clean saw, so I can try to build patches myself, and see how it sounds. But right now, I have to find a preset, take off all the effects, filters, modulations, and whatnot, 5 min is already gone, then i have another 5 minute to play around with

I also dont understand the different synth parts. Are they layers with different skins, or its the same layer but you only change the gui?

Seems a pretty nice synth though!

It's the same with recent Dune plugin from Synapse, too .. Too much fx on every preset, it sounds hi-fi but kind of fake hi-fi ..

Just went through some presets and to me it sounds like Gladiator but better. I wish it sounded more different honestly.
