Just click the init button in the settings window in the middle of the GUI and choose the option you like the best...adamtrance wrote:I wish there was an init preset, or an init button.

Oh the irony. That button is not available in the demo version. And an init preset is needed for proper evaluation!!!

I'll download the demo again later in the evening. I simply do not have the means to demo it properly at the moment, considering the limitations. I have two kids running around like crazy and I need to constantly be on the look out of suicide-like behaviour from my two year old son (he likes to test how durable his skull is). I managed to play through enough presets to see that ElectraX is indeed a very high quality synthesizer and does sound awesome. I have no doubt what-so-ever about it's potential, I just hope I can get past the dreadful mess of a GUI.Lux Delux wrote:Hmm well that sucks, hopefully they listen and change the demo policy.bmanic wrote:I couldn't be bothered to try. By the time I figured out how to do things I had been dumped 3 times on their web page.
Can't try myself at this time anyways.
Cheers!

Just search for a simple bass preset which only uses one of the synths. Turn it off and use one of the other 3 to start from scratch.adamtrance wrote:Oh the irony. That button is not available in the demo version. And an init preset is needed for proper evaluation!!!

This is all good news. I also didn't received the newsletter. I own both Gladiator1 and Firebird+. I'll wait a little and send an email to Bastian.Markus from Tone2.com wrote:Q: I havent received a newletter?
A: You should receive our newsletter today. If you didn't get it contact noord[a t]tone2[do t]com. Bastiaan will resend it to you.
Q: Is there a discount for Gladiator owners by the way?
A: You should receive our newsletter today. This email contains a special offer for faithful customers.
Q. Will there be free Gladiator updates?
A: For the coming Gladiator update we already finished this:
- We successfully created a 64-bit version (GladiatorX64.dll) of Gladiator
- We successfully created a standalone version of Gladiator
The update, the 64-bit version and the standalone version will be free for all Gladiator2 users. We planed the update for January.
Will Firebird also have the 64bit native update?

I agree 100% This not so much a Synth Demo as a Preset Demo. The presets sound gorgeous but the demo is so limited that you can't get a feel for how much fun/work it will be to create your own patches.adamtrance wrote:Oh the irony. When the patches are not so good it's a bad point, obiouvsly... if there are good preset sounds then the problem is that an init patch is missing. Pathetic.
Too bad I'm not the PR manager for Tone2 or any other company, I would like to teach people my persona idea of the word "diplomacy"
BTW: didn't knew the init button it's unavailable in the demo version, but don't scream like a bitch with me. As the experienced user that you are I'm sure you will be able to evaluate the product also without an init patch and maybe use a simple preset sound as suggested as a starting point.
Sound designers worked on the beta version without any kind of instructions on how to operate, so I don't think it's so difficult to work on the synth without an init patch. So it would be a good idea to stop acting like a sissy for any stupid reason.
Concerning the price... well to be honest I'm really surprised, it's way very low for such a product IMO (and usually I think most of the software around is overpriced).

Q: Is there a VST 64 bit version?
A: Yes. If you purchase a full version you'll receive a dowload link for the 32 as well as the 64 bit version. The demo is 32 bit only.
Q: Where can i refer when i have problems?
A: The right place can be found here: http://www.tone2.com/html/support_-_faq.html
Q: Will Firebird also have the 64bit native update?
A: Yes. This is on our schedule for 2011. The update will be for free. It will also include a standalone version.
Q: How can i create an init preset with the demo?
A: The synth engine has nothing to hide, since it's high-end. To evalute this copy 'Init_Substrative.fxp' from the 'ElectraX_data' directory to 'User'.
Q: I don't like the GUI.
A: Tone2 ElectraX ships with four different skins. It can be changed in ElectraXskin.txt
This file defines the Skin configuration for the interface.
Change the number in the first line and save this textfile to activate custom skin settings.
Configuration:
1 = Default setting; White skin for first page; Mixed skins for the rest;
2 = Black skin for first page; Mixed skins for the rest;
3 = Orange skin for first page; Mixed skins for the rest;
4 = Grey skin for first page; Mixed skins for the rest;
5 = White skin for all pages;
6 = Black skin for all pages;
7 = Orange skin for all pages;
8 = Grey skin for all pages;
