voxengo tapebus sounds better then this plugin by far! its been around for a long time stood the test of time! i would download a demo of them an do your on test! but from my test it was quick 1!it couldn't uninstall fast enough for me but that tells u nothing about the plugin! i download every demo that comes out of every new plugin! the only ones i buy are the ones that can replace something i already have! now back to tapebus! tapebus does consumer tapedeck well an to me that's a good thing! i run everything through it once! it makes my mixes come together a lot faster! i also use less eq an compression because of tapebuss! there is another plugin i would have a look at before i buy anything ferricTDS that one is clean no color good plugin it has it place also! the key is to try before you buy an make your own decision you dont want to buy a plugin that u will not use! also if u dont no what tape sounds like in the first place or cant find any recordings to compare it to! then your screwed! you dont want to spend endless hours trying to emulate tape that you could be making music or mixing music!

Now why do people do this? This is just unfair, don't you think? Do you have evidence that he is using a cracked Cubase? People really DO stick with old versions sometimes. Why would you think, based on that post, that he was using a crack? Maybe he is, but I don't see any reason to think so(yes, I know SX3 was at one point the latest version of Cubase to be cracked).dubbelQ wrote:Time for a upgrade or uninstall that old cracked DAW?guiri wrote:Has anyone got this working with Cubase SX3? First of all, bad grammar, and reading that post was a PITA.
All other plugins in question are pure algorithm.
Sure, it's not your "preset whore" plugin, but it sure as heck is not "clean". Then again, it doesn't do classic tape saturation in form of "print it on tape and then back again" - it's a different beast!
Not to derail anything here, I've yet to try this one myself (not to mention analyse it), but what you just did, sounded like "hidden advertising" to me.
Oh on the SX3 part...
I'm still using Cubase SX3. While it doesn't crash on me, does it mean I use a hack as well? Sorry Cubase 5 *goes back to padding the box*...
Oh, okay... you do know however that "tapebus" uses impulses from tapes on top of algorithms for recreating that specific sound?wsaidah wrote:tapebus does consumer tapedeck well an to me that's a good thing! i run everything through it once! it makes my mixes come together a lot faster! i also use less eq an compression because of tapebuss!

"Clean" and "no color"? ferricTDS? You sure you actually "tried" it?wsaidah wrote:there is another plugin i would have a look at before i buy anything ferricTDS that one is clean no color good plugin it has it place also!

Seriously, I think we get it that you "tried every demo on planet interweb".wsaidah wrote: the key is to try before you buy an make your own decision you dont want to buy a plugin that u will not use!
Now this is a harsh comment. Then again, I'm sure you have like a house full of reel to reel tape machines from 1/4" to 2" from different era's to actually judge these kind of plugins.wsaidah wrote:also if u dont no what tape sounds like in the first place or cant find any recordings to compare it to! then your screwed! you dont want to spend endless hours trying to emulate tape that you could be making music or mixing music!

This is Bernie Torelli at Nomad Factory, I just installed Cubase SX 3 V3.1.0 on Windows XP SP3 and Magnetic is working correctly.
1) Make sure to upgrade your service pack, we have SP3 installed.
2) The plug-in has been installed into: Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins
3) Make sure to add the correct path at the Plug-in Manager Window on Cubase (check our FAQ for more info)
If you have no chances, please contact our support team for help, I'll send a note tonight to the support and let them know that we have tested Magnetic with SX 3 at the development.
Best Regards.

Well, it's not like we didn't have a rash of sx3/joined that day/warez users around...right?
Ok, so it's unfair to assume but in fact that used to be a quite common occurrence.
Now, back to magnetic, and CHEERS to Bernie!

Honestly, with all the warez available, I would not have thought a minute of him using a cracked version.hibidy wrote:Well, it's not like we didn't have a rash of sx3/joined that day/warez users around...right?

That one is way too old
Well, back on topic I tested it and liked the sound, but I'm about the activate the demo for UAD Studer A800. So, I better have to keep my $49.

Despite my initial reservations, I eventually got Magnetic. I don't really care about the authenticity, I like the sound on certain sources. I like what it can do to synth sounds, and it can be spiffy on snares and hi-hats, as well. Well worth the 49$ to me.

Compyfox went in on me haha! look bro i don't blow smoke up any developer crack! nor do i work for voxengo! or am i affiliated with that company in any way. i was trying to give the people around here a quick heads up on what is available today! that get used on a regular an isn't the newest holy grail or flavor of the month! yes i do no tapebus use impulses an i even no what model an make! ferricTDS is like a good master deck ran at 30ips clean almost digital. but that's my opinion! we do try every demo over here! you never no when some small developer comes up with a gem and only wants like 15$ for it. for example De La Mancha Sixtyfive! no i don't have a house full of decks! when i go home i go home i leave work at work. it makes life a lot easier! an i don't use tape anymore but did a lot n the past! i transferred all my stems an masters maybe 4 years ago over to a digital medium! an the only reason i would analyse a plugin is to make sure inharmonious are low! to bad u took my rare post personal an to the hart!
