Great, thanks for the info, the Ilok software was a huge pain in my assstandalone wrote:It's a key file obtained by a challenge/response process. You can make a backup of it and it will always work on the computer where you authorized the pluging, no matter if you reformat the hard drive. If you switch to another computer you need to authorize again.
Need to check out this plug before December 12

On guitars, it provided a subtle yet noticeable effect that seem to sweeten things up. I actually like rolling the reel speed off to 7 1/2 with a fairly minimal sat/color.
Time to start testing again

And with minimal tweaking just throwing it on selected channels:

Please remark (especially if you don't like it) I don't trust my ears too much these days)hibidy wrote:I need some ears please:

Definitely adds a good bit of "muscle" to the mix -- even the cymbals, which are a bit "soft & light," IMHumO, jump out a little nicer!hibidy wrote:Please remark (especially if you don't like it) I don't trust my ears too much these days)hibidy wrote:I need some ears please:

Well, since that's about what I thought maybe my ears are not so bad.
Pretty light on the cpu here (6 instances along with SD ) yeilded a whopping 3% cpu in reaper.
Seems that all of my little tests provide positive results......but I am DEFINITELY doing x1 when it comes out and am gassing over the channel strip. Point being mo' research is needed....and luckily that's not an issue

yes that is what it worked on if i remember correct it also has found its way on guitars to bad the meter is of no use all ear with this 1!sonicpowa wrote:I just re-tested Jeroen Breebaart's Ferox and I think it's really excellent for tape emulation.
Here is Studer A800 15IPS emulation preset:

UAD plugin has much more to tweak but this particular preset works great on drums (turn down saturation for other than drums).

I personally didn't replace any. Still have and use Crysonic's nXtasy V3, JB Ferox, FerricTDS, Tessla (both)...and giving a spin to VariSaturator and BadBussMojo, maybe I'll get them when I get out of this economical abyss I'm stuck into!wsaidah wrote:for you guys that bought MAGNETIC what plug-in did u replace if you did replace one.

Jeroen should definitely make commercial version of it. More tweakable, fine tuned algorithms and with good metering. That could be a killer.wsaidah wrote:yes that is what it worked on if i remember correct it also has found its way on guitars to bad the meter is of no use all ear with this 1!

Hello, We are glad to announce that Magnetic has been updated to V1.1, fixes are:Nomad26 wrote:Oops.... talked too fast, I found the bug (can be reproduced with Cubase SX 3), will be fixed in a day or two....Nomad26 wrote:Hello Guiri, guiri wrote:Has anyone got this working with Cubase SX3? I've installed the 32-bit demos and they all work perfectly except for Magnetic which crashes SX3 as soon as I try to select a preset - in fact everything disappears instantly and leaves me looking at my desktop. I've been in touch with Nomad Factory but they can't help as they neither have a copy of nor support SX3....
This is Bernie Torelli at Nomad Factory, I just installed Cubase SX 3 V3.1.0 on Windows XP SP3 and Magnetic is working correctly.
1) Make sure to upgrade your service pack, we have SP3 installed.
2) The plug-in has been installed into: Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins
3) Make sure to add the correct path at the Plug-in Manager Window on Cubase (check our FAQ for more info)
If you have no chances, please contact our support team for help, I'll send a note tonight to the support and let them know that we have tested Magnetic with SX 3 at the development.
Best Regards.
