Owners of all versions of PPG Wave 2.V, including the LE version and the Waldorf Edition, are eligible for this upgrade
Hi Igro,

found it too now, BTW the part with the Waldorf Edition was added after my first email today. Maybe with the release of my own bank today i'm a bit confused... :)
Anyway i asked about the Upgrade procedure and the release of the full version.

BTW i already got the new update of the Waldorf Edition. It's running rock solid at Windows 7 32-bit and Rob uses it with Windows 7 64-bit without problems.

- the download version of the full version of PPG Wave 3.V will be available for purchase at 01.01.2011 at the Waldorf Online Shop and on DVD before earlier (no date).

- The Upgrade is available for users of the Waldorf Edition LE too

So make sure you remove 3.V from your session or close out your DAW when you take a break and go out for coffee or a bite to eat. Some may have their 100 hours used up before it becomes available to purchase and be left PPG-less in the interim. I think I've got about 80 hours left myself...

.... mhm. To my knowledge, that was a private conversation between him and me, so I don't think anybody else in this world (except for some Waldorf guys, hehe 8-)) got it...

I'll check tonight what I have. I seem to remember that I have a relatively comprehensive documentaton of the Waveterm B disk format somewhere... if I can find it, I'll upload it to my web site.

The principle is sound and should work, yes.

Sorry, but you can't create Waveterm B diskette images with Waveterm C - this one has its own file format for saving, and to my knowledge 3.v can't read THAT. And Waveterm C only works on Waveterm B files extracted with a special utility program, not on the Disk images like 3.v.

Hello Hermann,

that comment of Achim was a bit mysterious and i didn't really get it so far. The way he wrote it it's like the easiest thing in the world. I almost felt like i'm stupid... :)

On my personal list a wavetable editor is not on the top (since there are still many other things to explore...) but like you see there are many other people with a different opinion.

Turns out I don't really have a Waveterm B Disk Image documentation; only fragments. I'll create one S.O.O.N. ;-)

[Edit:] after having thought about it for quite a while, I'm not sure any more whether it's possible to create user-defined wavetables for 3.v this way. As far as I remember, the 3.v only uses Transient Sounds and Multisamples from the disk images, but not Wavetables or Wave Compounds.

Just found this on the Music Store website.

http://www.musicstore.de:80/en_EN/GBP/W ... 010401-000

http://www.musicstore.de:80/de_DE/EUR/W ... 010401-000

They write that they expect delivery at 6.12.2010. AFAIK the DVD version will be delivered earlier than the download version so this could well be.

They offer a price of 149 Euros instead of the final price of 169 Euros which is the same "Christmas Offer" discount as it will be available for the download version of the Upgrade (see the lines below).

The download version of the Upgrade for Waldorf Edition owners is available at 15.12.2010:

http://www.waldorfmusic-shop.de/epages/ ... D=19270228

"Christmas offer: 99€ instead of 119€, valid from 12.15 to 12.31.2010."

Now the PPG Wave 3.V is also added to the Thomann website:

On MusicStore they seem to get the Boxed version on next Monday (6.12.) and at Thomann at Thursday (9.12.).

The download version of the Upgrade for Waldorf Edition owners is available at 15.12.2010:

http://www.waldorfmusic-shop.de/epages/ ... D=19270228

...so I take it there will be a permanent upgrade path for PPG 2.V users for 119€? If so, it's a good move and I'm very happy Waldorf decided that way...

Yes, and for 99 Euros from 15.12 to 31.12.2010:

"Christmas offer: 99€ instead of 119€, valid from 12.15 to 12.31.2010."

It's also valid for users of the Waldorf Edition LE:

"The PPG Wave 3.V Upgrade is for users who already own PPG Wave 2.V and want to upgrade to PPG Wave 3.V. Owners of all versions of PPG Wave 2.V, including the LE version and the Waldorf Edition, are eligible for this upgrade. Simultaneous purchase of both Waldorf Edition and this upgrade is also possible."

Like already expected the boxed version will be available first, see my last post for that.

Cool, i hope it will arrive soon as it was mentioned on their website.

BTW after official release of Dune, releasing my Blofeld bank this week and testing the ElectraX demo i'm finally back working with PPG Wave 3.V. First thing i try is to connect some of my samples for a kind of Morph or "small wavetable" (with Wavelab Elements 7). Next will be to experiment with the D-Pole filter and the Spectral synthesis in Alchemy (+ additive Resynthesis too). For this bank it could well be that i use a bunch of other synths to obtain samples for the PPG (and Blofeld). Not to forget i got the new Galbanum collection with 25000+ waveforms which i will explore.
