I mean that by defining loop points while recording one can achieve looping imediately after loop-end point, no need for using a mouse to set up lenght or startpoint. Lenght quanitization would be nice because by using whole number of beats it is predictably to play several loop along. VSTLua had a midi looper where sustain pedal defined loop start and loop end point. Those points were quantized on whole beat or bar.insertpizhere wrote:i don't know what you mean exactly. i guess you mean something different from what "Manual" Record Length does. can you explain?maki wrote:Piz,
what about midi controlled loop-start and loop-end placement, with "while- record" quantization of those points towards nearest bar or beat?
-what about scale/harmonization using fingered methods as found on auto accompaniment keyboards. The first "lefthand" note defines a note for transposition and major character, added black note to the left gives minor character, added hvite note to the left adds septachord character and so on.

thanks.

that's basically what is supposed to happen in midiLooper by default. could be bugs with it right now though.maki wrote:I mean that by defining loop points while recording one can achieve looping imediately after loop-end point, no need for using a mouse to set up lenght or startpoint. i may add something like that later.-what about scale/harmonization using fingered methods as found on auto accompaniment keyboards. maki, give piz a break, he's working his guts out.maki wrote:thanks, any plans to add more than 16 slots, something like 16x8 matrix of loops with touch-friendly choice of synchronizable loop-groups?

Sorry, but isn't it is easy for you to relax, when you already have a beast with 512 slots, organized in 16 scenes with 32 slots each, potential for four groups inside a scene?bronswerk wrote:maki, give piz a break, he's working his guts out.maki wrote:thanks, any plans to add more than 16 slots, something like 16x8 matrix of loops with touch-friendly choice of synchronizable loop-groups?
I am just worried that Piz is going to get married very soon. Wife and children means - no hoby-time for plugins any more.

i plan to go up to 128 slots at some point, which should mainly only require a GUI change. right now my goal is to make it actually work correctly the way it is.

Befor I go to sleep, I feel no shame to suggest that no huge GUI change is necessery for midilooper to get 128 slots if Midipads is used as a midicontroller for Midilooper. Midipads needs feedback from midilooper so midipads can start AND stop recording and other actions. Most of parametars in midilooper can be given by slightly modified Midipads because most of the controllparameters in Midilooper behave inside 1-128 range. This means that slightly modified Midipads with 128 pads can controll almost everything in Midilooper and pretty much everything in the rest of midi world. Because of that, Midilooper and many other midi programs can even reduce their own GUIs if Midipads "learns" their properties.insertpizhere wrote:i plan to go up to 128 slots at some point, which should mainly only require a GUI change. right now my goal is to make it actually work correctly the way it is.

Now I go to count sheep to sleep, like when sheep count Chuck Norris to sleep.

Maybie, but startpoint and endpoint should be possible to determ by midi signal in real-time, while recording, not before I start recording.Optomadic wrote:@Maki punch in/out is what your looking for.

also could you add an option to load and play multichannel midi files and map them all to one control channel, so this plugin could be used to re-scale whole midi songs?
