OK. 99 Euros for the 70GB Independence Pro. I've had Independence Free for some time, like it, find it high quality.
But I'm more than aware that people have had some terrible experiences with YT, and have recorded experiences spread across many threads over a long time. With this new promotion, I (and I'm sure others) would be grateful if people could as concisely as possible describe good / bad experiences, including resolution (if any). Cheers!

they just don't understand, that if there is no support - nobody will buy their products anymore.
don't go for Yellow Tools stuff - you will find yourself alone with the problem...

I would buy it but beware that support can be sketchy at best.
Not sure if they've fixed the installer issues but some people, including me, had to load stuff onto a different PC and copy it across. I had to figure out workarounds for installing it as did a few other people. People had trouble downloading, authorising and installing. That's pretty much a full house. Even then some of the software had the odd flaw.

Did things get resolved in the end? Either from YT or forum help? Are people literally left with products that they cannot use?
I know nothing of it, but I see they are saying v3 has made all sorts of improvements (of course!)

Can I use the library in Kontakt?
I can't stand the YT interface so would never use that, but €99 for a 70GB library is pretty hard to beat.

Still need a dongle? WIBU or something? I did some research on this and was on the fence, and held off, then like everyone else noticed the trend of how things were going and was glad I held off, but now at this price, it's extremely tempting. Can it be resold later?

they do these "specials" all the time.. the company is wank.they can't support their existing customer base yet they still bring on the extra business.
I wouldn't spend that money, great library (the bass guitar bank is the best I've heard) but they suck and with the help of my crystal ball and a glimpse of the future destined for the toilet

No dongle, it's challenge / response now.grymmjack wrote:Still need a dongle? WIBU or something?
I've no doubt that the sounds you get for the money will be extraordinary. They've done deals before, but never this cheap. To be honest, for most I'd say it would be worth the setting up hassles unless the problems really are terminal. In my case it really does duplicate so much of what I have, but I'm still considering it! Those basses are a draw....

Woops,
Anyone done their e-Licenser before with success on Windows 7 32bit with Live 8?
3 E-licenses included, does this mean simultaneous installs or lifetime then you have to ask for permission to reset? To give you best possible flexibility you can activate the Independence Pro Software Suite 3.0as an E-License on your computer - there is NO Authorization Key (USB dongle) required!

Based on the e-mail it seems they changed a few things:
improved overall compatibility, performance and stability
new application architecture and folder structure for more intuitive handling, activation and library usage
load audio files, instruments and sound libraries from ANY location - no Root Folder location required anymore
new preferences page for custom setup and adjustment: user folder, quick links, library browser
improved Arranger: now supporting internal key switches including corresponding banks
new license management including new E-License Manager applicationautomation curve now supports synchronous and asynchronous +/- curve progression
re-designed option menus and several bug fixes.
I like the sounds of the "world" stuff in Independence free. 99 euros for all these sounds is very reasonable. I'm going to wait and see how the new installer works for those who buy this.. I am aware people had issues before and that stopped me from getting it last time..

I was impressed with the Free multis, but this is after S/H to me, around $150, which isn't too bad for what you get, but I'm also wondering just how many of those sounds I'll find uses for.noiseboyuk wrote:No dongle, it's challenge / response now.grymmjack wrote:Still need a dongle? Was saving $100 for cakewalk X1 basic version too.
Will wait and read the threads, thanks for your reply noiseboy.

This is confusing.
The title of the product is:
Independence Pro 2.5 Christmas Special
Yet in the description it says:
I might go for it, I just listened to a bunch of the demos, and it seems like this is a fantastic value. 3 E-licensers means simultaneous activations, that's very generous, I'm guessing we manage the deauthorization process, so we keep the 3 in rotation?
That would be a winner for me.

I'm guessing this is a mistake/misprint, and it's really true, and just a CMS or database update issue or something with the web site?Independence 3.0:
The next level of software sampler workstations. The audio engine of Independence 3.0 was completely redesigned and improved and contains many innovative features.
Independence Live 3.0:
A powerful host application specially designed for Independence 3.0 performances "live on stage".
Independence FX 3.0:
A sophisticated virtual effect rack with all the Independence 3.0 insert filters and effects.
