I think I found my Christmas gift! Thanks Waldorf. Just one question. How does it compare to Largo!? Best Sholla

Difficult to compare. Different both in features and sound. With PPG Wave 3.V you could import samples and Largo (opposing to the Blofeld) doesn't contain the PPG filter model. PPG Wave 3.V contains around 130 wavetables (sorted into categories), all from Wolfgang Palm himself.Sholla wrote:I think I found my Christmas gift! Thanks Waldorf. Just one question. Maybe you just try both demos:
PPG Wave 3.V: http://www.waldorfmusic.de/en/ppg-3-evaluation.html
Largo: http://demo.waldorfmusic.de/
This uses the eLicenser copy protection, either software based or with a dongle. If you already got an USB dingle this is maybe easier to use IMO.
Have fun,
Ingo

I've tried PPG3 demo and loved it. Its rock solid on my 64bit Cubase 5. Just never tried Largo. Thanks.

Both sound good, however, Largo is easier to program.Sholla wrote:I think I found my Christmas gift! Thanks Waldorf. Just one question. How does it compare to Largo!? Best Sholla

I just added some more links to the OP.
Currently there are 10 shops listed where PPG Wave 3.V is already available.
Here is a list of the Waldorf distributors. You could check which one is near to your home:

Tried Largo back in the day but it didn't grab me in the same way that this version of PPG Wave does! Largo is surely good but I guess I just prefer sound of the PPG
circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

Like already said they are difficult to compare. Totally different synth engine. Get both plus the Waldorf Edition and you're done...penguinfromdeep wrote:Tried Largo back in the day but it didn't grab me in the same way that this version of PPG Wave does! I just started doing some new samples, will be PPG 3.V and Blofeld exclusive. Funny stuff is that i better learn some of my other synths for that like e.g. Alchemy (Resynthesis: Additice + Spectral, including Resynthesis of some Kontakt programs), Wavestation, Tassman 4. Even diggin' more into FM with NI FM8 now. Adding the D-Pole filter to those too...rob_lee wrote:Yes different indeed, i have all the Waldorf stuff and each compliments the other, PPG is something else though, im doing some more library's for it in 2011Samples included.

So, will there be a downloadable purchase from Waldorf or only the upgrade?

At the new year to be exact, directly after the "Christmas Sale" ends. Before this the full version is only available as a boxed version (see links at the OP) but with a discount too. Later the prices will be 169 Euros for the full version and 119 Euros for the Upgrade.penguinfromdeep wrote:Yes but we have to wait a bit.. I think it's available in january
