Independence Pro E-License Sound Library für Macintosh und Windows
Sound Library Image Files
Format: ZIP Archiv. Die Dateien sind zwischen 3 GB und 5 GB. Gesamtgröße ca. 60 GB.

I thought these instructions were for 2.5.4(because there is no YT Root Folder anymore in Indie 3). Furthermore, I thought taht the download possibility of the library would have been for people who bought the download version, not for those who already have the library on DVD at home. These assumptions seemed reasonable at the time. Unfortunately, I was wrong

I received an e-mail yesterday about Independence Pro 2.5 xmas special. 70gb for 99 euros. I only have Independence Free at the moment. Is it worth it? Sounds it... it seems you guys are having some issues......

If you go straight in with 3.0 you may be fine but I had a working 2.5 and because of my stupidity I now have nothing because as I try to load 3.0 it flags up no access to a network????? whatever that's all about.
The whole thing is now screwed. I've paid out more money and got nothing but hours of hassle. Never again.

This really is the first time ever I've been beaten by a bit of software mainly due to zero support from the developer. They are most definitely the worst in the world.

We'll I've got my own battles with Native Instruments at the moment so I sympathise! They're not far behind in my experience!

I think most of the issues here are only for people who are updating independence from 2.x to 3, I guess a fresh installtion of the application and library will be smoother. Despite of the troubles I'm having right now, I'd still say that 99euros is a really good deal for independence (I remember the times when you had to pay 449euros). The library is really good(especially basses, percussion and saxes) and the user interface makes it simple to add modulation and all kinds of liveliness to the layers. The Independence FX plugin is also very useful, I use it mostly for the convolution reverb and as VST chainer.
I'm using Independence for over 2 years now and this is the first time I had serious issues with it (smaller issues, though: long waiting period when opening the GUI in EnergyXT (works fine in Reaper); the mentioned legato-hanging-bug: If you combine keyswitches with the legato function, sometimes notes will hang (no noteoff), this can be annoying and I'm sure hoping they fixed it in Indie3; no show-stopper for me, though)

Many many thanks for this info. I hadnt realized that it is related to keyswitched instruments! You just gave me a workaround!! :D

This makes me think.. Perhaps it happens only when keyswitching while a note is playing? Seems plausible to me.. Now if I just can get around the GUI bug.. I should probably try hosting it with jbridge or an external vst host and a virtual midi cable.

Sorry for the off topic rant, but once again... THANKS!!!

EDIT: Another thing.. Users who dont want to uprade and has troubles with 2.5.4 can try Best Service Engine instead. Its in the user area. No deep editing or legatos, but works well for basic playback.

I've got Independence Suite 2.5.4 and remember having a lot of issues getting the software authorised on my computer. I remember Yellowtools have shocking customer support and that it took weeks for them to respond to my queries!

Sadly, I forgot about all these customer service issues until I downloaded and installed Version 3.0 of the Independence Suite and realised that their copy protection is no longer on their dongle. It's an elicenser and supposedly I should have received a product code in order to authorise my new software! Sadly, I only received a serial number and no codes. I've tried to decipher the online information that Yellowtools provide on their website but it's obvious that an English native speaker wasn't employed to write the instructions!!!!!!

So I've paid $29 for the upgrade and am still waiting for Yellowtools to respond to my query about authorising the latest and greatest version of their software THAT I'VE PAID FOR!!!!

I'm at witts end and whilst I love Independence as an instrument and it has some great sounds and effects, Yellowtools' customer service just seems to be non existent when it comes to responding to user queries. Is there anyone who could assist me seeing as though Yellowtools can't be bothered responding to my requests?

Basically, it seems that the actual plug in/fx software was working fine but I couldn't access the 70GB library because it wasn't correctly authorised and the WIBU protection wasn't supported (or something of that nature!). Why I'd have to repurchase the DVDs with the 70GB soundlibrary just so it works with their new obviously screwed elicenser is f...... ridiculous considering I've already got the sounds on my external hard drive! What the HELL is going on with these bastards at Yellowtools? That someone can simply take your well earned money and then provide NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT is simply screwed!

I'm thankful that I've wasted $29 and not $129!!!!!!:) However, none the less, I'd like to get my PAID UPDATE working properly and fail to see how this can be so complicated. I loath pirated software but I really hope that someone pirates Independence Pro just to teach Yellowtools a good lesson as it's situations like these (where you've paid legitimately for a product and yet receive no support) which allows software pirates and users of cracked software to justify their actions!!!!!!!!

After 4 unanswered emails from Yellowtools 'customer support'( a joke in itself!!!), I'll be sure to never spent a single cent more with Yellowtools after this debarcle! SHAME ON YOU YELLOWTOOLS!!!!!

same here no response. maybe its time for a phone call?

The way it worked with 2.5 was that the registration software generated a code that you then sent to YT and they returned a code that you entered into the software to authorize it.

Sounds interesting! Does this player support Yellow Tools downloadable instruments? How does the activation work, and how much does it cost? I would like to get my purchased YT instruments working =(

Hi,

Update works fine over here. I updated to 3.0 same way as Kraznet did describe above. To register, you have to go to the Yellow Tools website, create an user account and enter the serial# you received, then activate your product with challenge and response process. Worked also fine here.

I have the same issues you have, updating from 2.5 to 3 and switching from dongle to elicensing. But its (probably) not that bad: It looks like you dont have to repurchase the library, but just download it again from the user area. Still ridiculous, but at least not expensive

I don't understand how to authorise the library. I tried to do a complete reinstall and every time i try to use the libarary a authorize screen pops up. There is nowhere to authorize the library. I even have a licence key in the licence folder. I personally think there is little support because nobody is at yellow tools. I been trying to call but no one ever answers.

Feel like they are only around once in a while....

Yes, it seems to work with the download sounds. I didnt try it for too long, as I reinstalled 2.5.4, but it seemed to work pretty well here. Seems that you cannot have both Engine and Inde installed at the same time. (But Im not shure) Activation is the same, and its free. Just check your Yellow Tools user area, under "Engine Downloads".
