Thanks, will try it again asap.Ambassador Kosh wrote:I used it on individual tracks.K-Slash wrote:Thanks for the input.
Didi you used it and tracks only, or on the master bus ? Or maybe both ?
I guess to get the sound of an analog tape master, I should try it on the mix. But I just slapped my usual EQ, compressor and limiter on the mix.

May someone confirm this:
Magnetic with turned up Tube modes add a constant low frequencies noise on the background. It sounds like HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM... Boost low frequencies and you will hear it. That's odd.

Magnetic crashes Podium. Shame, seems like a nice plugin.

I've noticed that the tube mode on low frequencies introduces quite a big DC offset to the signal, maybe it's a side effect you're hearing here? The tube warming in the SC-226 channel strip seems to do the same, but maybe not as prominent as in Magnetic. Using a bit of HP filtering seems to cure or lower it for the most part.Igro wrote:May someone confirm this:

I'm not really sure if that can be classified as bug or if this is intended behaviour, since i have never owned a real device to compare this behaviour to.
At least i'm a bit careful now where i place it in my chains, especially if used on bass heavy channels used in modern electronic genres like dubstep for example.

I did an audio sample of 909 kick here(it's not usual parameters for kick(this one isreally compressed and gained after), but this way can be eliminated low frequency at the background):nitex wrote:I've noticed that the tube mode on low frequencies introduces quite a big DC offset to the signal, maybe it's a side effect you're hearing here? (Save file to your PC...)
To remove it, i should use a low cut till 115Hz, loosing all the kick punch.
Nomad Factory really should check this, cos otherwise low end will be totally messed and plugin.

recently got into these plugs from the Don't Crack group buy
Magnetic reports a latency of 64 in Nuendo 5.1 @ 48K.
I went to install the update and afterwards my plug in information still says version 1.0 for Magnetic in Nuendo. Does anybody else get this or are you confirmed at 1.1 ? Since I had the license for all the plugs, I installed everything again, so maybe that was the problem. If you have a group license can you install individual updated plugs within that group and will it still read the license file properly?
I sent a support email to Nomad a few days ago and have not heard back from them, so I thought I would post here.
The one instance where I came across problems with the plug was a weird volume drop on a drum track after adjusting some settings, but I haven't been able to reproduce it. I had to remove the plug in and reload it and it hasn't happened since.

Correct, i wish the plug itself would say, but in Cubase / Nuendo you go to Plug In Information under Devices and a list of everything on your system will pop up, telling you the latency (if any), file location, version number, etc.hibidy wrote:where do you check the version number? Im presuming the download bundle contains all current versions.
Im finding Magnetic with Studio Channel SC-226 sounds really good on drums IMO

@1.1 : This does not seem to be included in the current installer (I can only get 1.0.11)
I've sent an email to NF about this.
I have not registered my copy as I want to wait till they respond.

Bought and registered, it was too tempting. Yea so far all good in Acid Pro 7 and Reaper. Just used it to fix up a friends track, Magnetic definitely added a nice warmth and punch! I have one very happy friend now!
I just dl'ed and installed yesterday, no idea what the version number is..
