Ha! See what I get for multitasking.
Alas, today is the last day I will be at a PC for several weeks.

The upgrade is available from 15.12 - 31.12.2010 for 99 Euros and after this for 119 Euros.MickGael wrote:I'm a bit confused here...
As a longtime owner of PPG v2, I decided to go for the upgrade. I was blocked on the site. I then read here that it is not available until January?
Does that mean this is not an option?
**Christmas offer: 99€ instead of 119€, valid from 12.15 to 12.31.2010.**
Not very festive...
The full version is now available for 149 Euros at several Music Shops and from next year on for 169 Euros. The download version of the full version is available starting at 1.1.2011.

Been playing with the demo for a few weeks and have been really impressed. The thing that has grabbed me the most about it though is that not only does it do the emulation thing with aplomb, it builds upon that classic PPG sound and gives you the tools to be able to make it sound old school grimy, beautifully pristine or some other mid way point of choice with ease. For me I'd put in the same exclusive playing field as the XILS Lab, Korg Legacy, ACE and GForce synths. It feels & plays like a real instrument and is a programmers dream.
The only thing I dislike about it is the preset system which is a very old school FXB/FXP affair so many of its delights are hidden amongst the multitude of supplied presets. When auditioning this synth though there's one thing you need to bear in mind and that's the nature of the PPG's wavetables. Some of the envelope settings introduce clicks on certain patches but these are easily remedied once you understand the signal path and underlying architecture of the PPG.
So at the introductory upgrade price of €99, the purchase was an absolute no brainer for me. Fully recommended.

I didn't realise you could upgrade from the LE Edition. Is that definite? Another good reason I bought the Blofeld if so!Ingonator wrote: The Upgrade is available for users of Waldorf Edition, Waldorf Edition LE, Steinberg Waldorf Edition and Steinberg PPG Wave 2.V.

I checked the text at the Online Shop again and i have to say i'm not certain because they removed the LE from the text.Goseba wrote:I didn't realise you could upgrade from the LE Edition. I am sure that around one week ago they mentioned the LE Edition too.
Maybe you could write a message to support@waldorfmusic.de to ask about this.
Could be better if this is asked by a customer instead a beta tester...
UPDATE:
I just checked my email which i sent to the Online Shop to solve some questions about the Upgrade. The answer about if this is valid for the LE version was yes. Maybe you could ask at support anyway.

Sorry to hear that,Goseba wrote:I have heard back from Waldorf, the upgrade is not valid from the LE Edition.
this could be the reason why they changed the text at the Online Shop. One reason could be that the LE version was included with Largo so every Largo owner would be able to use the upgrade version then...
Anyway if you want to get the full version instead maybe you should do it fast because i think that the current price of 149 Euros (boxed version) will be raised at the new year (final price is 169 Euros AFAIK).
