ttoz, you're using my positive remark as an example that we shouldn't? It bums me out a bit because I was just glad for the dude

I understand what ttoz is saying, I just selfishly wish it wasn't me he quoted, or that the thread wasn't woke up after two weeks. I don't think it's fair.
Again, I'm just glad the guy got it sorted. Don't like to see my peeps having issues.

And that is why they take a long time... to discourage people who are thinking about selling from doing so... They will deny it is the policy, but you cannot have it happen this many times without it being purposeful.DHR53 wrote:I've considered selling RMX, because I just haven't ever figured out how to use it to suit me... I know the potential is there, and I've done some interesting stuff with it, but I really prefer a drum plug with an easy beat programmer. And banging out some beats with a bunch of samples. That being said, I can see Spectrasonics REALLY don't want to do license transfers... so it would end up being more trouble than it's worth. And there is the possibility they turn the next version of RMX into something insanely cool, that I would get on with! So I'll siton it and wait

These threads do seem to get them to move their ass a bit, so I recommend anyone who is thinking of selling, just announce it here and keep the thread updated... a little push from users to not drag their feet seems called for...VicDiesel wrote:It doesn't say you need to grovel for 3 months. A month ago someone & I got to an agreement that he was willing to sell Stylus to me. And that's where it's been for the past month. Very annoying.hibidy wrote:Here's a point that should probably be a sticky somewhere:
Spectrasonics does allow transfers BUT there is a 50 transfer fee and you MUST have permission to sell before hand. Buyer and seller must understand that it can take a very long time to get the transfer completed.

Not true.ttoz wrote:It's the same story with every single spectrasonics license transfer, no kvr member has ever had it happen quickly, ....hibidy wrote:Glad to see it's worked out
I bought Stylus RMX used and didn't have any problems with the licence transfer.
Sure there seems to be a problem these days, but i don't think there is a need to exaggerate.
And how would you know about every single spectrasonics licence transfer anyway?

This one didn't seem to have too many issues now...alogie wrote:My purchase of Stylus RMX from another kvr-er only took 12 days. I was pretty happy with that.
It might be interesting to see just what the breakdown is for the license transfers...
Ok, how long did it take you to get a license transfer done through Spectrasonics?

Well i don't remember it exactly, but it was all done a few days before the discs arrived from the seller, which took around one and a half week.ttoz wrote:well you're the first one that's posted that. How long did yours take?

just to resurrect this as am having the same problem, 3 weeks in and no response beyond a couple of 'someone will get round to it' msgs from tech support. selling because my main studio comp has died and desperately need to raise funds for a new machine as am mid project - dead in the water until it gets sorted.
rung twice from the UK, into double figure e-mails now - very disappointed and will definitely think twice about re-purchasing when back on my feet (omnisphere been on the list for ages, unlikely to buy now out of principle). had to sell my UAD, SSL, powercore, rob papen plugs all were sorted within one working week.
very poor performance, i consider anything i buy with hard earned money to be an asset that should have some value - as it stands in my current situation my assets are effectively worthless

It makes absolutely no sense to me why they can't get their act together. Amazing product and great support for updates and free presets etc. Maybe they are just too busy doing their work and so passionate that they just can't get around to the administrative stuff. Well that doesn't really make sense either because they wouldn't hopefully have the same people doing both.
It just doesn't make sense because they end up eventually doing the transfer anyways, they just piss people off in the meantime while it takes so long. I think they'd be wise to do a little better in this regard.
...I don't really think they need a deterrent, I mean I'd never dream of selling it, not would most people, so they might as well just get 'er done when someone needs to sell.
