I currently have a Line 6 pocket Pod for doodling around on which i plug my iPhone into for jamming along to backing tracks.
Just wondering if these new iPhone ampsims are worth it or not in terms of sound quality or am i better sticking to what I've got. I do like the idea of being able to use just the one device which is whats making me consider the likes of iRig.

For portability, if you want just the one device we think that's almost exactly the application we created it for. As far as sound quality, I think you'll be surprised since we now have DSP code derived directly from AmpliTube 3 which (though I'm clearly biased) is undeniably far more advanced.

I agree. I've got Amplitube 2.0 on my iPad, and I own the Pocket POD, and there's no comparison. Not only does Amplitube sound better, the features and graphical nature put it over the top. Ironically, even with the 8-track feature bought ($14.99), the full app ($19.99), and the iRig dongle, it's still less than I paid for the Pocket POD.KrisM wrote:the Pocket POD is based on older code/dsp than even the POD XT, it's POD 2.0 iirc.
Amplitube and Ampkit both sound signifigantly better imo.

Thanks for the reply gents, thats made my mind up. The Pocket POD is going on the auction site.
What about the hardware interface, I'm reading the the Peavey one seems to be of better quality than the IK one. Any of you guys tried both?

I can't comment; I've only used iRig, and have no troubles with it.bigcraigie_1 wrote:Thanks for the reply gents, thats made my mind up. The Pocket POD is going on the auction site.
