It has no practical use, just curious how in depth it can get. I love the demo btw, except I think the dropouts are WAY too frequent.

Just play with the "LFO Rate" knob to increase/decrease speed (which you too could automate using vst automation)
If you're interested what the potential of OP-X PRO-II for experimental and weird sound is then check the "PROII_Effects" and "PROII_Matrix" bank; with FM / RigMod / Cross Modulation / Sync / FilterenvMod / FilterSelfResonance / MorphableFilter there are a lot of features for experimantal sounds, much much more than in an OB-8, more like Matrix in fact. Some examples:
Listen: OP-X PRO-II - Baby Scream
Listen: OP-X PRO-II - Long Wave receiver
Listen: OP-X PRO-II - XPander Landing Jet

Listen: OP-X PRO-II - Synced Reverse Pulsearp

this indeed is something that can happen in loops; strangely the exact same loops in other sequencers (tested in cubase 5 and protools 8) don't produce any issues;
I found out that it's gone when the starting and end point of the loop are not exactly on the bar - the issue is gone when you zoom in to the max and manually shorten the file's beginning and end (grid off) only a tiny little bit to the inside of the bar; don't know why yet; live seems to do something different here than other sequencers; we'll keep examining it

the lists by the way both (the temporary and fixed one) too have another tiny but useful feature built in: they keep/remind their position after having chosen a presetbreakmixer wrote:Thanks for giving this info, I thought it was a bug when the preset browser wouldn't close(I almost reported it), maybe change the arrows to words of some sort in an update...Peter999 wrote: Patch Browser
There are two choices to launch the preset list: temporary or fixed. Using the left side "down arrow" the list will disappear again after having chosen a preset. Using the one on the right the list will be "locked" until you close it again, which is convenient for browsing around in the presets without having to launch the list again and again.

the annoying thing about most windows lists - if they are too long to fit the screen - is that they always return to their beginning, so you always have to scroll down again to grab one of the lower presets; this is gone in OP-X PRO-II and makes choosing presets much more comfortable

Ran and tested the demo version on the Lionstracs Mediastaion. Worked flawlessly.
I've also released the Lionstracs VSTi files that integrate the VSTi with the Lionstracs OS. Files are hosted on the Lionstracs forums for those who need them.
Nice work Peter, hope to buy this over the next few days. Might do a YouTube clip of how to install it on a Lionstracs.
Regards
Sharp.

Hi Peter.
I'm delighted to say that so far the experience has been flawless. Sounds amazing, and the work done on the factory sounds is really top quality. The recreations of classic famous sounds are just to die for.
It loads super quick on the Meidastation and all the sounds from OP-X are all being displayed within the actual Lionstracs OS perfectly. I don't even have to have the plugin on the screen and I can change all the sounds from the Lionstracs display. This is very handy because this means all the sounds are available on the screen in a table just as you normally see them on a typical workstation like a Yamaha Motif or a KORG M3. So integration with the plugin is very good and there are no issues. This also means I can mix the OP-X sounds with everything else running and save complex sounds as COMBI sounds without even needing to see the plugins that I'm mixing together across different hosts.
Just testing stability and checking for problems... The keyboard has a multi ASIO function which allows me to jump to other Hosts which are all running their own sets of plugins. Jumping back and forth between the hosts works like a dream. When I leave the Host that's running OP-X and then jump back, it's just sitting there instantaneously available to me and on the last patch I left it at. No lag and no crashing of any sort. Very stable and plays nice with everything else I'm running at the same time.
Installation was straight forward. Your setup file runs straight through and needs no special treatment. To integrate the sounds displayed in OP-X with the Lionstracs OS I only have to run the file I made and uploaded to Lionstracs forum. This only has to be done once and then the plugin is always available and integrated with the Liosntracs sound selection pages. I've made Lionstracs files for every bank that comes with OP-X.
Performance wise I haven't noticed any issues at all. Resource usage is rather low for what I'd expect considering the sound quality. That's about all I can say on performance at this point until I start working with it in a "Song" situation and I start to push the keyboard hard in a multi track setting. I don't expect any issue though.
Very impressing and highly enjoyable software. Something you have every right to be very proud of.
Regards
Sharp.

PS.... forgot to mention that I have my KORG OASYS connected to my Mediastation. The OASYS is feeding KARMA note data into the Mediastation and it works well with OP-X. I look forward to exploring setting up CC controllers to get more from OP-X doing KARMA on many levels.

I'm really looking forward to see it perform in a video. Btw, just curious, what kind of cpu is used in the media station?

Hi Peter.
I got to use OP-X today in the Studio for some serious work. It's only a 15 second long soundtrack for a TV advertisement, but OP-X really fitted in well with the spec I had from my client. Very happy as the warm sound sits very will with my OASYS.
Regards
Sharp.
That link you posted looks about right for what I have inside my unit. Not a monster spec, but since I haven't hit it's upper limit, there's no need to look at replacing the CPU yet. The keyboards are user upgradable so they can grow as my needs grow. The OS all the different keyboard run on is the same, so it's a good investment. It doesn't really ever go out of date.Btw, just curious, what kind of cpu is used in the media station?

Hi electro.
You don't have to deal with the PC side of things at all for the most part as the VSTi's you install can all be integrated into the keyboard own displays. Sounds from VSTi's like OP-X for example are displayed on the screen just like a sound would be displayed on a Motif. You can have it both ways if you want though.
If you want a peak at what I'm talking about, feel free to check out my YouTube Channel.
I've a video here showing how Giga files work on it. OP-X is displayed on the keyboard in the same way which make it feel very much like a traditional workstation but with all the benefits of an open system.

Sharp.
It's an OPEN keyboard, sort of like what Open Labs are doing only it behaves more like a traditional workstation from a productivity point of view, but also has a fully open system so you can install what you need. What is this, a new platform?
