Hi everyone,

I'm happy to announce that some days ago I released my new app called Ricepad, a modular environment highly oriented to live music creation. I've put a lot of effort to make something interesting that can be played for casual times for fun as well as for more structured live performances. You can play, remix, filter, loop, sample, resample and create sequences.

Please check out the video and the complete description on http://www.ricecode.com

I have to add that KVR helped me a lot as a software user but also as a developer, so thank you very much to the administrators and the whole community!

Cheers,
Alessandro

great stuff! grabbing it to try.. (tho it might be a little while til i get free time to check it out.. ) i'll let you know how it goes..looks fun!

couldn't resist a quick go before clean up from our christmas day
(family came to us this time!)
it seems a really nicely thought out app and the tutorial is great.. look forward to delving deeper.. one prob tho ..got a crash trying to download the loop pack.. whole app shut down after about 50% of file download.
I'll try again later and see if it's a recurring bug or just a one off thing.

This app is hard to understand if you don't read the tutorial. which is a shame sense i don't like to go thru the apps without reading material that much.

Otherwise is seems great.

Is there going to be an iPad version?

Does it have any loop rearranging functions?

Support sonoma ACP ?

Post

@topaz
- I have no plans for an iPad specific version yet, though in the future I'd like to.
- Ricepad has loop functions, but I'm not sure what do you mean by loop rearranging.
- Only Intua ACP is supported.

@shanecgriffo
Thanks for the bug reporting (and for your comment :- ). I'll check it out. If you'll have more info I'd be glad to know more.

An iPad version please, has to be universal.. Really.

Option to rearrange, slice, randomize loops

Sonama copy paste is so much better than intua, it can hold 12 loops with full bpm and name support plus preview.

i tried 3 more times-still the crash.. it's actually closer to 3/4 the way thru then 'crash' ..app closes. (i did get the 2nd smaller pack downloaded ok tho!)

Post

Ok, now it should work. I had a problem on the server (the problem appeared because we have recently changed the hosting server, which turned out to have a slightly different behavior from the previous one).
Thanks again for reporting!

Post

still crashing here.. :(
have you had the same problem with other users ..maybe its just mine
if it's a problem for others too ,maybe the pack could be split into 2 downloads .. it might just be about the size perhaps

Post

I'm really sorry for the inconvenience. This bug appears if you have a slow connection, so please try to place your device where the wifi signal is stronger. If you still have problems, while I'm trying to fix the problem, you can manually install the pack by following the procedure I've just written on this page: http://ricecode.com/help.html
Cheers,
Alessandro

Ok now also people with slow connections shouldn't have any problem to download the sound packs.

Post

Hmm, I downloaded them first day on 3G and didn't have a problem with either sound pack. Go me, I guess.

I think by loop rearranging, they want to be able to slice hits out of a drum loop and place them wherever they want to make a new beat.
Meh.

Post

that's exactly it.

Tbh until ricepad is universal I personally will pass.
