I think we all understand that you don't make the decisions, but surely this is a no-brainer for any app that is trying for the the high-end of the sophisticated music app market? IK Multimedia wouldn't consider releasing Amplitube without the ability to set input levels or adjust track volumes - copy and paste is right up there in equivalent importance.

I honestly was considering Amplitube as a purchase. Hearing that it didn't allow copy and paste was enough to make me change my mind. Lost sale! How many other lost sales have there been for the same reason? Who knows, but plenty I should imagine.

The fact that you produce the highest selling app of it's kind isn't the point. The point is you want things to stay that way.

Add copy and paste, and I'm a potential customer again. Until then - no way.

It is a no-brainer for some. We of course do want to keep it popular and keep people happy, and the people who make the decisions take all of the users under consideration (as a whole) when making decisions. We understand and feature requests are sent to the appropriate folks of course.

sonoma audiocopy paste for any mobile pro audio app shouldn't be a "feature"

it should be standard.

In your opinion. I understand that we're not immediately putting in a feature (yes, it is a feature) that you want, and you are welcome to wait for the feature. Like I said, all feature requests are forwarded and counted, and many considerations go into developing an app and some features get prioritized. I'll replace all those instances of the word feature with standard once it actually becomes one. ;)

I had been using Multitrack DAW, and it's quite nice. However I got the Amplitube iRig with the 8-track, and for me it's been very useful. I like having the effects option there.

I've actually been using the iPad for teaching guitar lessons. I plug the iPad into a stereo system at my students' houses, and play through that. Then, as we're covering a particular passage, I record it a couple times; once at normal speed, then at a slower speed (kinda like the audio version of "Betcha Can't Play This) and then I just e-mail the track to their iPod or computer. Works great! They're also able to see how multitracking works, and it's inspiring for them.

Thanks, not to mention we are moving VERY fast but the industry moves even faster these days with iOS apps and we're doing a balancing act as all app developers are. We have a true full-featured development process based on our many years in pro audio apps as well, and we try to move as fast as we can with the highest quality. There are also potentially other options for cut-and-paste and other related functions and a lot going on. We ARE listening though, and I did want to make sure you all knew the input is, as always, appreciated.

Hey Peter, does Amplitube/iRig work with the camera to dock connector and a USB interface, like how Multitrack DAW does? That would make it even more handy.

I haven't tried it, but I believe they have tried some things in Italy with the camera kit but I have no conclusive results. Do you have the kit and a USB interface?

Forgot to update this - and will post the same in the other thread about the fact that I had a good discussion about this, and though I can't guarantee anything there was good reception to the idea that we do need something especially with the addition of another two iOS apps coming (VocaLive and the free recorder). So there will be something and I pushed for audio copy/paste regardless even if there are other solutions.

Please ask them to use Sonoma not the standard single file ACP.

Sonoma is far superior and allows up to 12 files on the clipboard with full
Name and bpm support.

:D great news Peter.

I can see amplitude2 getting purchased now, im sure the cut and paste will come on the next update ;) I know, no promises but it sounds promising.

Totally agree about the Sonama pasteboard, it's the best imho.

Great news!

I'll be buying it the minute (no, the second) you release a version with Sonoma cut & paste. :D .

But I agree with Topaz: it's got to be Sonoma.

Cheers!

How does Multitrack DAW's iTunes file sharing work between the iPad/iPhone and the computer? The developer's website only mentions sharing over wi-fi.

I'd just like to update this thread.

Has anybody tried Music Studio:

http://www.xewton.com/musicstudio/overview/?dev=2

It seems that this could be the best audio/midi recording app at the moment from what I can see on their site.
I'd like to be able to record gtr, vocals along with some synths in the same app and to be able to adjust synths with a piano roll.

I was listening to the Gorillaz 'The Fall' which used quite a few apps, but I'm not sure how you can use them together as you would use plugin instruments. If you had recorded one instrument to play back in a multitrack app how would you monitor, play and record a sound from a different app and then fit them together?

Chiming in on this. Is there currently any app that will let me record 16 simultaneous tracks to an ipad?
And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.
