Choo Choo, the fifth movement (not counting the "flatwater" theme that goes between movements, a la Pictures at an Exhibition) from the upcoming "Fall Line suite" to get to a more-or-less finished state. It's all about what happens when a river flows off the eastern-most edge of the old continental-interior igneous and metamorphic bedrock onto Quaternary oceanic sediment. (What happens: it gets really floofy and people paddling tiny boats play in it.) The movements are named:
Pony Pasture -- Class II
Powhite Ledges -- Class I
Choo Choo -- Class II
Cooper's Riffle -- Class II
Mitchell's Gut -- Class II
First Break -- Class I
Approach Rapids -- Class II
Hollywood -- Class IV
VEPCO Levee -- Class III
Second Break -- Class IV
Southside -- Class III
Pipeline -- Class IV
The whitewater class designations are for the James River at normal, five-foot stage. During high water, which is frequent hereabouts, things get really sprightly.
