Doing some electronic/IDM type stuff while my friend does a setup/restring/intonation job on my guitars. Only have my bass guitar and midi keyboard right now. Sometimes you get more creative when your set of usual tools is taken away or kept minimal.
Plan to add some mic'd up acoustic guitar once I get my Presonus Eureka back when I go to pickup my guitars from the same friend. Maybe some bits of electric layered, but I want to keep it more minimal and spacey.

I seem to wear some of my influences on my sleeves. Hopefully it doesn't sound like a blatant ripoff. I like their Campfire Headphase album a lot. Who knew the impurities of warbling off pitch tape flange could sound so nice.jensa wrote:A really good work in progress I think. Boards of Canadaish.

Too much delay on voices, and different voices between first and second half would've been nice.

Thanks for the comments. I guess there is such thing as too much echo/delay for a dub style effect, not that I know too much about that style/genre. It probably gets muddy especially with the wavering in and out of the background backing chords. This song is an idea I like to expand on. I like the melding of different genres into one kind of progressive sound, incorporating both melodic synth parts and non synth instruments like my main instrument of guitar eventually.
I guess the music I hear by KVR members and other net artists is the inspiration for the sound I am after. There is no other place that I frequent as much where I can just randomly listen to a piece of music with open ears, and never say "Well, I hate this genre (if listed), I am not listening to it...".
