An emu of an emu??? :P
haha!

Now, I'm really upset. There is a place right down the way (so to speak) that apparently has a ton of really killer stuff that for some reason I've never heard of. What am I going to do? What if they have a killer amp (or.......gulp......guitar)

I'm trying to be all about strings and picks. So what's the line on my holding to that :hihi:

I would if they weren't so overpriced now. :(
This i find strange as at least once a month i see an 800 1x12 50-Watter or the two channel version (or some variant even the heads more so) for sale in the back of 'guitarist' magazine's readers ads/classified section for anywhere between 300 ("Well used, gigged condition") to £450 - £500 ("Home Bedroom Use Only" (heads can hit around £700 - £750 depending). What i mean is how odd the prices of certain brands is different to either get ahold of or used/new even in different parts of the world (not including the varying VAT either) & :? As you said Eric you see Framus Dragon's going for a good price, i have only seen them used for a good £1100 from memory which is about £300 too pricey (as in £800 i would probably pay, even £900). Funny world. Must be down to factory mains on 50hz or 60hz. I like Hughes & Kettner amps as they deploy a universal IEC mains as do others, wish this were a standard on everything audio equipment!

Hope you find a good little combo anyway mate :tu:

Even susiwong the prices where you are oppose to me considering it is not so far off from the USA seem to differ and are most of the time more inline with US than UK for used stuff...Maybe it is just me?

As a starting point, keep the 1st volume down around 4 and lead gain around 2 and you'll get some nice mild breakup tones. It might not be loud enough however when set that way, think Deluxe Reverb.
Is that on the distortion channel?
Clean / light OD switchable.

Out of memory :
Volume 4
Master before clipping sets in
Lead Master to set the balance between clean and crunch, rather low
that's crunchy rhythm, use a good pedal for lead

:!: turning up treble above 5 increases compression, mids similar, these MK style Boogies are rather non-intuitive beasts.

Actually working with the manual and sample settings is highly recommended here, the owls are not what they seem ! :-o

Totally agreed about s/h prices, my Marshall experience is similar.
The US market is completely different ...
Many US brands (Mesa among the first) stopped making switchable mains to artificially keep foreign prices high, I remember our dealer prices being higher than US retail :-o , not even half of this was taxes and shipping.
This also makes private used imports quite unattractive, unless you want to deal with step up transformers or a new power supply.
The joys of corporate capitalism ...

I just played one of these the other day. Super simple and have the best clean sound I've ever heard. They're hand-made locally here in Ohio and now I want one: Tube Amp Factory FB-10.

Anybody want to give me $849 US for the Matching Custom Cabinet and Head? :hihi:

Yeah wonderful for us european lot and equally wonderful for the American lot, It is what has prevented me from buying a number of amplifiers i have really liked over the years and still does like that Rivera Knucklehead K7 head (The Mick Thompson model and also the old VHT/now Steven Fryette stuff) otherwise i would be jumping down Eric's throat to get one of each in no doubt/for the fair price with shipping. As it is though it will not happen anytime soon unfortunatley :( bastard corperate 'genius' moves

Great prices! Why are they only able to pull 25 Watts out of a pair of 6L6's?

Just got my Fender Mustang I, and I have to say that as far as digital amps go, I'll be using this from now on and shelving Podfarm-- I'm not the best judge of tone, but my ears know what they like. And it gets surprisingly loud for a 20 watt/8-inch speaker combo. Time to tweak some knobs... :)

Today I played the Jet City JCA2112RC, the combo version of the JCA20H with the addition of reverb. Mike Soldano says this has the identical circuit to the Soldano Astroverb 16 and I could definitely hear it. It's a little fire breather! For high gain tones on a budget, I haven't heard anything better, and that includes the Orange Tiny Terror and the Vox Night Train.

I think it's an intentional design to attain a specific tonal palette (how sweet it is!). They do custom stuff too, so I'm betting that you could ask for something beefier.

Personally, I like the 10-watt. It's more than enough for a recording amp and for small gigs, IMO.
