I installed cubase 5.5.2 today, still no luck!
Burillo,
It emulates analog too.

The tape doesn't colour the sound. But presumably those machines also contained analogue stages, and AD/DA converters...

With everything else turned off and DASH mode selected there is still some subtle colouration: a touch of 3rd harmonic distortion, and probably some other stuff as well.

Solved: Magnetic shows no latency plugin information in Cubase.

1) You have to press in Cubase "Update VST-Plugin" and "Update Plugin Information"

or in the case that it doesn't work

2) Delete the Cubase database file "Vst2xPlugins.xml" and restart Cubase!

For Win7 x64 & Cubase5 Studio x64 you'll find the file in C:\Users\"Username"\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Cubase Studio 5_64

Crashes Reaper v3.74 (x86) on two machines here. Back to the old version.
I like the plug in, but the updates have been a pain in the arse. I think some serious beta-testing could have eliminated all these bugs in the first place.

I bought the plugin, but haven't installed it yet. I don't even know what version I have. I suppose if it crashes, I'll know it's the current one. :P

On second thought, I'll wait until things have calmed down in this thread, then I'll know the newest patch is the one to install!

Wow. We will soon have a version 2!

Something is definitely very wrong. Nomad should be applauded for the frequency of the updates but...to crash in that many hosts suggests more testing is needed..or more testers (public beta maybe?). I think I will wait until the dust settles on this after a few updates e.t.c Sadly I just cannot use the plug ATM. :(

Sounds like early updaters ARE public beta to me...

I'd rather sit on the older version than try using a new update at this rate...

For those that could use and test it for a while now...

Is "Magnetic" usable as tracking (recording) plugin or only as post production tool for the first insert slot?

I would not use it as a tracking plugin. At least until the latency report thing has been sorted out and is fully clear. My approach in general is to not use plugins inducing latency for tracking - even better no plugins at all, if possible.

But I had no issues so far. Ver. 1.2 here.
