Maybe I missed this or it's new, no clue, anyway, just discovered this....

Prodyon offers a free 8 times multitimbral SF2 soundfont player VST called "Phenome" and a free factory set of sounds. You can also browse and load any other SF2 you might have and create your own sounds in Phennom.

Looks nice and straightforward.
