Hello all,
I was curious if you might know if a books exists with popular piano chord progressions. (There seems to be so much repetition of the same basic themes. Perhaps a book of this nature might help prevent writer's block).

Thanks!

How to Write Songs on Keyboards by Rikki Rooksby is pretty much a cookbook of chord progressions.

One I keep meaning to look at is Chord Progressions for Songwriters by Richard Scott which seems to have some more advanced tricks in it. But I've yet to find/order a copy.

The book is - the Music.

Listen to music - there's all the chord progressions right there. If you sit down and figure out the chord progressions to songs, you'll have a much better understanding (and mental retention too) of which progressions are typical of certain styles, and which ones are common or uncommon, when unusual progressions are used, when typical progressions are modified, etc. etc.

Go to the music.

understanding the basics will tell you all the options right away so it is obviously not a book you are after.

but if you want reference anyway search in google.
