But although I've worked out how to sync it to iTunes and download apps etc, to the iPad, I have absolutely no idea about how to connect it to my PC by Wi-Fi, so I can't access the vast majority of functions of the pre-installed apps like using Safari to browse the web, or connect directly to the iTunes store, or most importantly of all, use an app I've bought called S1 MIDI Trigger that I am going to be using to remotely control the functions of my main PC music creation software Reason and Record.
God I feel stupid, but I know nothing about this - I mean, I've heard the term Wi-Fi and I understand that it allows remote connection to my computer - and that is the complete extent of my knowledge on the subject.
Do I need to buy a USB Wi-Fi dongle adaptor? Or what? Do I need a Wireless router? And if so what sort? They vary enormously in price and specifications. I've tried searching the Apple and iPad help and it doesn't say a damn thing about what hardware I need it, just says I need to join a Wi-Fi network. I thought Microsoft Help was poor - Apple is worse!
Windows help says that in order to set up a Wireless network I need a Wireless Router plus a Wireless network adaptor preferably a USB type. Is this really the case if all I want to do is connect my iPad to my PC - isn't there a nice all in one solution (again preferably USB, and preferably cheap)?
Once I've got the right hardware, setting it up doesn't look that hard in MicroSoft Help (famous last words
For reference my PC runs Windows 7 64 bit professional and the Ipad is a 16GB Wi-Fi plus 3G model.
Thanks!
