LIKE I SAID, i select (and save), presets from my audio damage plugs in exactly the same fashion that i select them in all my other plugins, and there is nothing difficult about it, and there is nothing about how it is done in audio damage plugins that makes it either more or less difficult.bailees7irish wrote:+1aMUSEd wrote:Sarcasm unnecessary. like amused, i like my plugs to have internal preset management. Fabfilter Micro & One, u-he's ACE, Sugarbyte's Effectrix, UniqueLE & Consequence - all of these plug-ins have internal preset management, and i find myself loving them the most out of all the vsts/vstis in my arsenal... that isn't to say that i don't still use and like many other plugs that do NOT have the preset management feature, but it does makes things just a step or two simpler that, in the long run, saves me some time.

On the matter of "Built in" preset management, I to would like to see every vsti instrument have it, but hey guys, those of us who can learn to program softsynths, moreover those of us who like my self, have taught our selves(for the most part) to program these things should have the brain power to learn how our DAW of choice manages presets. Or simply use something like Minihost or Zen or cantabile to create presets in? Just sayin'

well, i guess i dont understand what exactly "internal preset management" is.bailees7irish wrote:heathen wrote:LIKE I SAID, i select (and save), presets from my audio damage plugs in exactly the same fashion that i select them in all my other plugins, and there is nothing difficult about it, and there is nothing about how it is done in audio damage plugins that makes it either more or less difficult.bailees7irish wrote:+1aMUSEd wrote:Sarcasm unnecessary. nor have i run across anything that made using any of the audio damage plugins "difficult" to use.
2 mouseclicks to select a preset doesnt seem like a huge effort to me, nor does it seem to me to make something more "difficult" to use.
i guess having to make two mouseclicks to change a preset is quite laborious... such a strain on the mind and body...

it's not just about having to make a few extra mouseclicks to CHANGE a preset.heathen wrote:well, i guess i dont understand what exactly "internal preset management" is.bailees7irish wrote:heathen wrote:LIKE I SAID, i select (and save), presets from my audio damage plugs in exactly the same fashion that i select them in all my other plugins, and there is nothing difficult about it, and there is nothing about how it is done in audio damage plugins that makes it either more or less difficult.bailees7irish wrote:+1aMUSEd wrote:Sarcasm unnecessary. for instance, if i want to save a preset in FL Studio and the plug that i am using doesn't have a preset manager, i have to save that preset as an fxp. personally, i despise using fxp's and fxb's (banks).
i have my various presets saved in a folder, and try my best to keep everything completely organized, but it still always seems like i am having to hunt for fxp's, having to search for a preset bank, etc. even more, some of my plugs (without the preset manager) come with numerous banks, but when i try to find those banks, they are in some folder deep in my VST folder and i find myself doing more searching than tweaking.
as i said before though: my biggest complaint with non-preset-management vsts is the hassle of saving the presets as fxp's.

... which is why Zen is gonna save your life - bringing preset management to all the vsts that don't have it internally.
Back to the original topic, I'll get in touch with the AudioDamage folks for Zenifying their latest baby.

You're missing the point we're making. It's not about ease, its about the fact that not all hosts even allow you to use presets in the same way, or force you to use preset systems that are not compatible (I'm thinking of hosts like like Kore and Cubase). From a sound designers perspective in particular that is very limiting as it means I can't save presets in a form other people can use. A built in preset management system (even just load/save functionality, it doesn't have to be anything complicated) guarantees that I can save presets in every host in the same way.heathen wrote:well, i guess i dont understand what exactly "internal preset management" is.bailees7irish wrote:heathen wrote:LIKE I SAID, i select (and save), presets from my audio damage plugs in exactly the same fashion that i select them in all my other plugins, and there is nothing difficult about it, and there is nothing about how it is done in audio damage plugins that makes it either more or less difficult.bailees7irish wrote:+1aMUSEd wrote:Sarcasm unnecessary. like audio damage is doing something on purpose to make their products more difficult to use, which is a pointless/stupid assumption to make.re_mute wrote:Yeh, that'd make it easier for their customers to use their products.aMUSEd wrote:Does this have its own preset management system?

and it goes along with past thread topics with posters getting their panties in a wad because they dont have demo versions of their products.

VSTi in 2011 without their own internal preset management is just plain stupid - christ, even Tone2 got the message.
But, hey, do AD give a shit because I won't buy their synth - almost certainly not.
So unless you have inside knowledge that I've made Chris Randall cry or something, feel free to move on with your life.
