Because the mono track you created is an Audio track I believe. Mojito needs to be on an instrument track, which is what it creates by default when you drag it in.S-N-S wrote:i just find it weird that when i drag n drop mojito to a mono track,it also creates a stereo track underneath the mono track?SolarRainUK wrote:S-N-S wrote:ok thanks i will check those out
one thing i find is a bit weird is when i create a mono track, and then drag n drop studio ones own synth mojito onto the created track.studio one creates a new track under neath??
do you know why,or have you also experienced that??
EDIT:also just found out about the ability to draw figures in automation, and ive made some cool sounding effects that way,but think that was already possible from ver 1,5
Or is it that you want to change the Mojito track into mono?

Is your midi input device selected for the track? Press F4 to bring up the inspector, and check the Input box (output should say Mojito).aMUSEd wrote:OK I'm probably doing something wrong but since there seems to be a possible workaround for adding Kore (full) I decided for £13 it would not hurt to try. However I can't seem to work out how to insert an instrument properly. I dragged an instance of the built in synth (Mojito) for starters and I'm sure I've set up my io's right as the midi input is flashing when I press a key but I'm getting no sound and the mixer is not showing any audio being outputted. The little monitor icon is blue which I presume means "on" - do I need to click on something else?

Turns out you can load any plugin provided you call it Kore player.dll. I just managed to load a copy of the Bidule and Kore full versions that way - through either of those I can load anything.MountainKing wrote:Just for the info - here's a thread that will let you be able to use the full versions of

inside Studio 1 Artist.

It might get a bit tricky but I guess it#s worth trying it. So, the downside lacking VST and AU support isn't that bad anymore.
What would one need more on making music - nice DAW, really good FX inside, a good amp simulation, a nice drum plugin and many sounds through KorePlayer and Presence (which can load soundfonts also). So what?
Regards Jens
Anyone know what the Kore Player fx version dll is called and put it in the set VSTPlugins folder? (I tried several variations but not hit the right one so far)

Input is "New instrument" which is setup to receive midi in. I can see the midi indicator flashing when I hit a key but there's just no sound. Audio seems to be working OK - if I drag in a wav file and create an audio track it plays sound fine. Weird!SolarRainUK wrote:Is your midi input device selected for the track? Edit - even weirder - it is making a sound if I play on the piano roll keys - just not if I use my own midi keyboard (and yet it is clearly registering the input)

Yes, like the previous guy said, instruments almost always create a "midi track" when you drop them in unless you drop them onto an existing instrument track. In that case it will replace the current instrument being used on that track.S-N-S wrote:ok thanks for clarification, will have to remember that next time
The "Do You Want To Replace?" dialog that pops up in the latter case is mildly confusing on first use. What it's asking is not if you want to replace the instrument on that track, it will do that regardless of your answer, it's asking if you want to unload (totally replace and unload from memory) the old instrument instance in the rack "Yes", or leave the old instrument loaded in the rack still, "No".

Hmm..Ok, one thing though. The flashing midi arrow at the bottom of the screen only tells you that S1 is receiving the midi signal, but it could still be that something isn't setup right in the midi input for the actual track.aMUSEd wrote:Input is "New instrument" which is setup to receive midi in. Might want to go into Studio One > Options > External Devices, and re-check your settings for 'New Instrument' there.
PS. Is the little square record button on the track enabled when you try it? It should be red.

^^^^^ what he says, and maybe also switch the midi input on the track to "All Inputs" just to see if you can make the channel meter move with midi playing.
Make sure your midi external device isn't filtering channels, make sure all of the boxes are blue, "All"...

Actually, if your keyboard is just being used for midi input/playing you might want to make a new "keyboard" instead of a new "Instrument" for playing midi. There are different options there like making it the default midi input for all new midi tracks and for channelizing your inputs on the track with "Split Channels"...

Yeah that's on - I can't see anything wrong - and it is playing the piano roll keyboard strip when I hit a key but it's just not doing anything to the synth. If I create notes in the piano roll they play too - there just seems to be this weird disconnect between my midi keyboard and the instrument. I had a look on their forum but can't see anyone else having this problem.

Already tried all those options thanksLawrenceF wrote:^^^^^ what he says, and maybe also switch the midi input on the track to "All Inputs" just to see if you can make the channel meter move with midi playing.

Strange... can you post screen shots of your current midi track along with your device settings open?
Silly question probably ... but you do have the track monitor button turned on right? If you can play with the Qwerty keyboard and hear sound... your midi input should make sound also if it's making the track meter flicker.

Very strange. Especially since S1 is definitely receiving MIDI, that's why I assumed something is wrong in External Device setup.

It's definitely authorised - not running in demo mode or anything. I even tried scrapping my settings and reinstalling.
Only thing I can think of is I'm running beta Kore drivers - maybe I'll try my Virus Ti as the audio interface and see if that works?

I might be completely wrong here..just wondering. But shouldn't Receive and Send settings be the opposite way around? For instance: Receive From: Kore MIDI Out?
