I don't have any more info than what IK has revealed at NAMM. But from what I understand, the new version is going to still be AmpliTube 3.x, though it is a significant update in the way you add new models. Some elements on the interface are going to be moved around to make room for the Custom Shop button. New models are going to be bought à la carte through the online Custom Shop. From the screenshot from NAMM, it looks like new models will be bought with some type of credits, but I haven't been able to make sense of this system yet.

It's going to be cool because we won't have to wait a whole year for a new AmpliTube edition, we can just get them as they become available, which will probably be with a fair amount of frequency, and for not too much pain in the wallet per hit. Our individual AmpliTube setups will begin to become more personalized and diversified, though, which could eventually end up being a headache for preset sharing and cross studio compatibility as time goes on. I guess the only thing to do will be to collect them all!

Well, peter has already confirmed x64 which is my biggie, but I hope (and I'll re address it with peter) that things like not being able to do mousewheel support in sonar will be fixed. I guess that's part of it is needing to be x64.

Don't see how mousewheel support would be X64 related ...
Does mousewheel support work at all, in any host ?
It definitely doesn't here in Cubase 5.5/32, most other plugins and the host use the wheel just fine.
A typo perhaps ?

mousewheel works and is assignable in samp...if you push the mousewheel down it starts play on the transport :tu:

even better, my assignments:

mousewheel scrolls vertical
shift+mousewheel scrolls horizontal
ctrl+mousewheel zooms horizontal
alt+mousewheel zooms vertical
ctrl+alt+mousewheel zooms both at the same time
shift+alt+mousewheel zooms wave
shift+ctrl+mousewheel changes selected track

I love being able to assign key short cuts :tu:

Me too.
Your assignments make sense I suppose. :tu:

Cubase is wonderful here, its modifiers change function depending on context, really making the most out of alt, shift, ctl and some others, most of which are on buttons of my multi-button Logimouse. 8)
Not enough, these mouse button assignments are application-specific (via the wonderful uberoptions, an inofficial upgrade for Logimice :tu: )
Add to that a big set of screensets, proprietary one-button keycommands, macros and a keyboard with editor's keys (for the colour coding) - a pretty effective workspace.
And it has to be, as you know, guitar players only have one arm free if at all.
Makes easy control even more important for ampsims ...

Ymmv,
susiwong

Ok, back to soldering, one more patchbay to go, then I'll try my luck at some bearded licks. 8)

Works fine in reaper. I have no way of telling if it does in S1 as I only have "artist"

Yeah you are right, I just remembered some x64 plugs that also don't have mousewheel support.

the mouse wheel has limited things you can assign to it but it does other things too...like on the channel eqs in the graphic view when you hover over a point the wheel adjusts the slope.

Fryette (VHT) had a cool EF86 pedal at NAMM. That might be a way to add that Bad Cat EF86 sound to any amp.

Whoa! Total deja vu!

That valvulator looks interesting.
