Can any of you answer these questions possibly please thanks!
1. Do any of you know of where to find the PDF manuals for each / any Nomad plug? Or do they not have any? PDF or similar?
2. Do they have their own official forum anywhere (apart from the Don't Crack forum)?
Cheers

Ok, it's in the installer you download (once you unzip) Warning: It's not muchRexXx wrote:1. The manual for all plugins is included in the universal installer (see 3) Documentation/NomadFactory_UserManual.pdf).
2. Nomad Factory have no forum.

@dakoz:
v1.4.1 is not out, you mean 1.4.0.
Send Nomad a little mail via their support form and they will give you a link for the 1.30 installer.

@Agemo:
Nomad said they removed the "internal DC offset", because it's not needed.
If you are unsure, you can rename your 1.20 magnetic.dll file to e.g. magnetic.old in your plugin folder, install the 1.30 version and switch between both.
But keep you old 1.2 installer

I contacted Nomad Factory because 1.4.0 wasn't working for me. They sent me the link for 1.4.1 and also for 1.3, just in case 1.4.1 didn't work (which it didn't). I'm happily using 1.3 now. dakoz, I sent you the link 4 hours ago. Check your in-box.

Thanks, Rex. I'll ask Nomad Support for links to 1.3 and 1.4.1, then. 1.4.0 crashed my DAW. It was impossible even to launch Cubase SX3 with 1.4.0 installed. The initial release (1.0) allowed me to open Cubase, but crashed the host whenever a preset was selected. So I'll certainly keep my 1.2 installer. It's an interesting plug-in to approach the emulation from two angles: compression and EQ. But the compression section seems to cause some crackling on my setup. The general sound of Magnetic is attractive, however. It's worth pursuing. -Agemo

Just to report back. Version 1.4.1 is perfect (Cubase SX3, Windows XP here). No more crashes, and there's a marked improvement in sound compared with version 1.2.0. Many congratulations to Nomad. -Agemo

Magnetic 1.4.1 is working fine here under Win7x64 with Studio One Pro (x86 & x64), Reaper (x64), Cubase5 (x86 & x64). No crashes
!
But I notice two things:
1. BOOST is not off by default (Factory settings) as described in the 1.40 update info.
2. I'm a bit irritated - the Vintage Tape Colour (only the vintage mode!) adds crackle, if I set it around 40% or higher.
Is this the "vintage" effect or a bug???
See screenshot and listen the audio file (first part is unprocessed)

Edit: Here is the unprocessed piano test wav file (24bit/44.1khz)
