I mean a real fix of the bug in the software).

Thanks,

Tech support can tell you or better yet install the demo and try it. Works unfettered for 10 days. Thanks!
Try it and see if it works? How about "yes we fixed that 2 year old bug" would be a more suitable response from a company rep.
How about try it because it apparently doesn't happen for everybody (in fact may not happen for ANYBODY in AT3 which is what they're asking about, and X-GEAR isn't applicable because it doesn't exist with AT3 architecure - though I'm sure you have been paying attention and decide to simply ignore those facts) and might not be a "2 year old bug" for all users? I don't work in tech support. Demo versions are supported there and they can give the appropriate answer. They might be able to help with whatever issue you have which causes IK posts to be some "bat signal" for a smearing. Feel free to contact them or other parts of the company (contact methods are on our site) to help with whatever causes whatever issue you have with us. Thanks!

Yes, I agree completely!

Peter, you've got to be kidding with this kind of response. Either the bug is fixed in AT3 or it isn't. And, by the way, I already tried out the AT3 demo, but a demo is not sufficient to suss out a bug which is so random and eratic.

If this is IK Multimedia's official response to such a serious problem in one of their showcase products, I'll just pass on the AT3 upgrade - and any other IK Multimedia product.

I suggested you ask the people who report known issues and help the devs fix them for a conclusive answer AND that you could also find out with a demo. Yeah, that's really out of line and I apologize.

I don't work for tech support, and my post pointed you to a response from the appropriate parties. Again, sorry for that.

Its a simple question, really. Has the 2 year old bug the OP pointed out been fixed, yes or no? If you can't track a bug down that several people report having, that means it hasn't been fixed.

Ask tech support. They'll know. I don't track bugs, they do. The thread was brought back from the dead asking about AmpliTube 3. I've sent a link to it to tech support. Again, they're the folks that will be able to answer it and any other support questions. If you have a ticket open about it or if it was closed, simply reopen it and they'll happily help you. Have a nice day.

Nice twisting, though. It doesn't mean it hasn't been fixed, it means I don't have the answer and directed correctly. It means I already gave the information about it and who can answer. Again, if YOU have this issue you must have a ticket open that can help get you an answer or if you don't want to reopen it just PM the ticket number. I'm through with being baited in thread so I've presented your options. Thanks.

Edit - though I do now recall being told AT3 was indeed a fix to this since it is basically X-GEAR (or, makes X-GEAR unnecessary) and if anybody wants to verify... I've already said who to contact for better verification.

I don't use Amplitube, I use Guitar Rig without any problems, like literally none. Concerning tech support, actually IK tech support DID show up in this thread, then they vanished after this:

Sorry to hear of these troubles with your AmpliTube software! Please know that IK is aware of the issue and is currently in the process of updating and creating a fix. The noise is not pleasant and we fully understand your feelings here.
Duh... You are aware of it since July at last. But knowing the speed of the fixes it will be done somewhere in 2011.
We have discovered a temporary workaround to this issue, which is to disable the High Resolution setting within the AmpliTube Preferences options. To access this, load up AmpliTube and click the PREFERENCES button in the bottom left corner and click to disable the High Resolution here. This setting is enabled by default, so the chances are high that this is enabled.
Been there, done that... Still Kaplooi.
If you have continued troubles, please contact IK Multimedia Support so we can open a Support ticket with you. To open a ticket, visit http://www.ikmultimedia.com/Support.php, and fill in the required fields.
hmmm.... You mean you answer them. Funny that... I haven't had an answer over more than a month.

As I said, I moved on but I am not interested in the company line.
So, I've PM'd the OP to see if his problems were ever resolved, as I'm not sure he's aware that his thread has been bumped.

Am I the only one who thinks you should not talk like this to customers?

Obviously you don't have an answer to futurefields question.

We have a saying in Germany (freely translated): "If you don't know sh**, then please shut up!" (no offense)

I'm not the OP. I also don't use A3, but the last patch I had got for A2 did solve it and I am a happy camper using it on my Apple. Dumb logic says that if it is fixed for A2 they used the same code in A3.

Took me a while to recall what eventually happened with this issue, and I'm not 100% sure about all the details (can be difficult to remember what exactly happened under what exact conditions), but here's what I know, I think. :)

1. Turning off the high resolution switch in AT2 did indeed make the noise bursts disappear for me.

2. I started using X-Gear instead of AT2 soon after that, but like you can see from my older post in this thread, there were other kind of problems (the same presets sounded different in X-Gear vs AT2). Anyway, the noise problem seemed to be fixed.

3. I have been using Amplitube 3 since it was released, and haven't experienced any problems with it. Nor used AT2 or X-Gear any more, so I don't know what's the current situation with them. :)

Now, just waiting for a 64bit version... :hihi:

I have the latest update (2.1.4) and it didn't solve the noise spike problem for me. I'm still encountering the problem in both Logic and Ableton Live (on a MacBook Pro). That's why I resurrected this thread to ask whether the bug was fixed.

OK, that's good to know. I may just take a risk and upgrade to AT3. I wouldn't consider it but, despite the noise spike bug (and some other annoyances), I regard AT as superior to Guitar Rig when it comes to the realism of the amp emulations (not so convinced about the effects, though...).

Have you contacted IK themselves?
