Hey buddy, you didn't. Each to his own purpose with regard to the iPod and my purpose just didn't fit your bill. Sorry if I "sounded" harsh. It was meant quite neutral and objectively and I still appriciate your concern.

Besides I am not good at recording hardware to my DAW, it often end up noisy and distorted. I would surely use my hardware a little more if I had more time and patience to learn.

It's ok don't worry about it all is forgiven lol. I've had years of experience with both hardware and software, I haven't had wi fi until a few weeks ago, I still hate the idea of not being able to download saved wav files via USB and having to use wi fi.

Curtis is cool as hell for sound creation, Noise.IO when messing about live, even if it's only iPhone resolution.

Bought the Reactable app last night - £6 but the damn thing crashes on startup every time I launch it. They really need to enable people to get money back when apps don't work.

+1 for Filtatron
FL studio will be releasing an app soon as well.
One to look out for

In my minimal experience -

I will only look out for it if it supports pasteboard transfer  Do you know if it will?

I don't know if it will or not.
I believe it will be possible to transfer files into FL studio for further work and that Akai Synthstation keyboard will be supported.
If that's the case, it'll do for me :)

Have you tried the usual fixes? Hard reboot, delete the app and reinstall or delete another random app and reinstall. These are all suggested fixes for when freshly installed apps don't run. First time i downloaded reactable and ran it it crashed but i reinstalled and it worked. What are you using it on?

OK if you use the report problem in the iTunes shop you can get a refund - they just gave me one. This does not state that it is not compatible with 3G models (they just say performance will be be better on more recent models) but that appears to be the case so if you have an older model best to avoid it (I'm due for an upgrade on my contract in 3 months anyway so might go for an iPad then or wait for iPad 2)

...on topic subject, just bought the red bull dj rig and master out app for iPhone, very impressed with this. Instant 0 latency monitoring on the iPhone, leaving the iPad output treu stereo, nice effects suit, just does what you need...bang on.
This app ,combined with alesis studio dock for quality 1/4" outs could push the iPad into serious dj territory. I haven't dj'ed for 10 years but this app has re-ignited my live mixing passion.

Here is an update on my 100% self contained iPhone/iPod touch studio for anyone interested in this approach.

All apps can communicate through pasteboard transfer. Especially if you are into midi-music such as electronic music, I see no reason to why this collection should not resemble computer soft-studios like Reason, Orion or Fruity Loops etc. Of course they do not have the same amount of extra bells and whistles and the workflow is slower with all the transfer, but the basics are there and sound wise, the generators are up there.

I am not into loop mangling, so I have not looked for loopers with time-stretch that support pasteboard copy, but I know they are out there(e.g. Looptastic Producer & LoopExtreme)

1. Nanostudio(Synthstation 25 compatible, Sound Cloud upload)
2. iVoxel(Vocoder. Synthstation 25 compatible)
3. Vox 3000 (text-to-speech generator)
4. Nlog midi Synth(Synthstation 25 compatible)
5. DXi
6. Jasuto Pro
7. Xenon
8. iSequence
9. Beatmaker
10.Finger Bassline
11.Four track
12.Compressor
13.Twisted Wave
14.Audio Forge

I know "Bleep!Box" is pasteboard compatible too, but for some mysterious reason it did not turn me on, so I skipped it.

And Dear DEVs: Please join the MAPI pasteboard tranfer partnership at Sonoma here: http://www.sonomawireworks.com/iphone/mapi/#apps or at least allow wave transfer to the general pasteboard. This will make us able to paste it elsewhere :D

Best Regards

You will indeed be able to open your FL Studio Mobile projects on your PC and it supports the SynthStation25 & Midi Mobilizer :

Anyone tried out bs-16i? It's a soundfont player which works with the MIDI Mobilizer gadget.. I don't have that, so I haven't tried bs-16i. But the idea of taking my own patches anywhere does sound appealing.
