Hello,
I use Cantabile Performer with an RME 8 in/out sound card.
Until now, I only managed to use 2 in and 2 out audio channels. I used the user guide to configure the audio driver in tools (all my 8 audio channels appear), but cannot assign more than 2 channels in the audio channels menu : I only have the front left and front right channels.
I guess it is not a big issue, but can you help please....
Thanks.

Hi Meta,
I use cantabile in combination with a Hammerfall DSP System (but not available at the moment) so I can say it works. So I try to give you step by step description out of my mind:
1 Chose Hammerfall DSP ASIO Driver in the Audio Engine Options menu (Setup)
2 Chose Assign Audio Channels in the same menu
3 Select as many Master Bus Channels as you need as output lines in the hdsp
4 Map the chosen Master Bus Channels to the out-channels of hdsp
5 Chose Configure Master Bus in the Setup Menu
6 Select the assigned channels on the left side and rename them as you like
7 Be aware to adjust Pan for each channel (normally: left-right-left-...) and close menu
8 Load an instrument to the rack
9 Open settings - tools - audio channels and map vsti outs to the renamed output channels. This also works for multitimbral vstis with more than 2 outs
Hope this can help you,
regards and good luck, humphrey

Hello Humphrey,
I finally tried and it works : thank you.
It works with the outs, but can you help me (again) with the ins ?? I just want to come in Cantabile with a stereo piano and a mic, through different ins.
Thanks
Meta.

Hi Meta,
never used cantabile with audio sources but I think it should work in a similar way. I would try the following steps:
1 Setup - Audio Engine Options - Assign Audio Channels: select (or add) channels
2 Home - Master Channels - Input - activate check box on the top
3 Click the little microphone icon in the rack you want to use as input
4 Rack - settings - Tools - Audio Channels: select input channels of the rack
Hope this can be of some help,
good luck and kind regards, humphrey
