Yeah, I was wondering why they didn't give us Firebird+ licensees a discount. I'd much rather deal with a company that does provide loyalty discounts. Therefore, off to buy Dune at a discount ... :)

Can You try two other things, please?
1. choose a patch (but not the first in its category)...do some adjustments (filter cutoff)..close gui...open gui...Is the patchname the same like before You closed the gui? And are the adjustments you've done still there?
2. switch a synth (layer) "off"...and try do make some adjustments...switch the synth automatically "on" only if you touch a knob?
If you can't confirm this you are a lucky man! ;)
Hello sopor79,
1-no problem:patchname is the same and my adjustements are still there
2-I confirm the layer switch to "on" as soon as I edit

From Markus on ElectraX Tone2 forum:

Hello,

some prople have reported that they experience a crash. Please note that this seems to affect only a small group of people and mosty the demo version. ElectraX has been reported as very stable. Howerver customers who don't experience any problems don't write here in the forum. ;-)

We plan to update ElectraX to v1.1 in January. The update will contain some fixes, new features and will improve usability. The upadate will be for free for ElectraX customers.

Please note that we have tested ElectraX with 15 people on different systems for more than 4 months. We definitely don't abuse anyone as a tester.

If you experience problems you should make sure that:

- The VST directory is not write protected. Take a look at the read/write priviliges. Otherwise the plugin can't save patches, registrations or configurations.
- You don't press the 'C' key within ElectraX (i forgot to remove this hidden key from the betatest)
- No illegal Tone2 software or keyfiles are installed within your vst directectory
- The 64-bit support of some hosts is stil buggy. If you experience problems install the 32-bit version.
- Try to avoid to send midi-program-changes while the GUI is closed. Use the preset browser within the plugin instead.

We plan to update ElectraX to v1.1 in January. The update will contain some fixes, new features and will improve usability. The upadate will be for free for ElectraX customers.

Merry Christmas,
Markus

I just read in the thread about the Waldorf PPG Wave 3.V that it has sample drag n drop. Wouldn't this be possible in Electrax, too?!

There is no "drag and drop." There is a "quick import sample" thru a menu without an audition. You have to audition the samples in finder, and then navigate to it's location through ElectraX's "quick import sample" menu load it into ElectraX.

I played around with the demo last week and I find ElextraX quite good. I personally didn't care too much for the demo presets but I don't judge a synth on it's presets alone and I think the actual synth engine seems very capable. I think that for software users looking for a virus type sound the ElctraX is a good candidate.

One thing I didn't like that much though was the UI. It's OK but I percieve it as sharp, I would have loved to see the option of having a flatter 2D type interface with better contrast, maybe as an extra skin. I think far too many software developers take this 3D look like hardware too far and it's not very practical for the users at all time. I think that Poly-Ana is another synth that had that problem as well, horrid UI on that one imho.

I hope Tone2 seriously concider adding a simpler UI/skin in a future upgrade, because I think the product would benefit greatly from it, users eyes would defenitely benefit from it! ;)

All in all though it's a nice synth and I can imagine it quickly become a favorite in particular among people that produce different dance oriented genres, although it's very capable for any synth driven genre. :)

Yup! Beta v1.1 is SOLID. Everything is fixed and working perfectly.

Apparently the demo is longer as well, so those who were hesitant to try this beast out, very soon v1.1 will be released. Greenlight---> GO!

I can easily say this is one of the greatest instruments I've encountered in the better part of a decade; really. This synth has been a game changer for my music and career.

Marcus and Bastiaan are total badasses for creating this, they really created something special with ElectraX. My hat's off to Tone2.

How are people getting the beta? Email tone2 I suppose? Didn't see a forum post about it or anything in support when logged in.
