Anyone have any tips on using the library? I have never tried to create a guitar part thru software

There aren't any, but it's the same for all electric guitar libraries.
Would actually be nice to get some dry demos for guitar libs so that you could try amping them your self.

This isn't what you think.

Shreddage X is coming along. We're still really hoping to have it done by the end of the month, but we don't want to rush it (the legato needs to be spot-on, or it's not worth doing.)
Also, I've received a lot of requests for more tutorials, demos, etc. and the best I can say is that we're definitely going to do them via YouTube!

Thanks for putting in the extra time/effort. If legato notes become truly useful, I might be able to shelf my guitarzircon wrote:Shreddage X is coming along. I drew up 3 charts to help me in programming with Shreddage: one for Master Quick Play, one for Left Hand and one for Right Hand. The charts have the complete articulation breakdown by Velocity for every single patch, which makes Shreddage very easy to use. A clear, easy-to-read chart might be at least as useful as YouTube videos.
Are we getting emailed when the update is available for purchase?

That's definitely a good idea - thanks! Since the mapping is changing (and becoming slightly more complicated... not by too much, and the old options will still be there) that should be helpful.
Also yes, we'll be sending out an email when the expansion is released - if you've ever purchased anything from us, you'll get it!

How likely would it be to see a K4-only patch for Shreddage?
That's something I'd probably pay for as an 'expansion' or 'upgrade'? I'm serious; it's a shame to use K2 patches in K4, especially if you own (or have used) products that utilise some of the new features.
I'm looking forward to X

If you had asked me that last year I would have said not likely... but as of this year I think we're going to start doing Kontakt 4-only libraries. Almost everyone has upgraded at this point with just a handful of exceptions. All our old libraries will still be compatible with K2+ of course, but as you said, the new features are too good to pass up.
