I agree and that's what I plan on doing, use the free Simuanalog one. I really like the sound of it, very swooshy. I think it will work out pretty good for the song I had in mind. And you can't beat free! Amazing how many great free (legal) VSTs there are available.pandashake wrote: Huh, different strokes. I was thinking the exact opposite. The one in A3 is just kind "meh" to my ears. The Simuanalog wins in my opinion. The effect is more pronounced and vibrato-y.
I've never needed apps like Amplitube or GuitarRig. I'd rather record my real amp anyway and use real analog effects (for the most part - but still do use some free VSTs) in my recordings.

The simulanalog univibe is pretty decent. I would have sounded better with a nice gui lol

It doesn't. They're the same as far as I can tell.jens wrote:In what way does it differ from the one in the Ampltube Jimi Hendrix package?Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:The one in Amplitube 3 sounds spot on.

AT Jimi Hendrix is legacy software.jens wrote:In what way does it differ from the one in the Ampltube Jimi Hendrix package?Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:The one in Amplitube 3 sounds spot on.
Everything from AT2, Hendrix, and Metal were updated and rolled into AT3.

Then that would mean it can be had for less than 100$.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:It doesn't. They're the same as far as I can tell.jens wrote:In what way does it differ from the one in the Ampltube Jimi Hendrix package?Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:The one in Amplitube 3 sounds spot on.

It appears your answer isn't relevant to my question (or to his answer) at all, redshift factor wrote:AT Jimi Hendrix is legacy software.jens wrote:In what way does it differ from the one in the Ampltube Jimi Hendrix package?Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:The one in Amplitube 3 sounds spot on.

but anyway:
Please define 'legacy'.

It means it is no longer being updated. ATJHE is a contemporary of AmpliTube 2, the previous generation. It means it is somewhat obsolete, since everything in ATJHE is contained within AT3, much of it updated to be even more dynamic and brilliant.jens wrote:Please define 'legacy'.
I can't tell you if the Uni-V specifically has been updated with new code, because I've never done a side by side comparison of the two, but that is a distinct possibility, which would be the answer to what's different between them.

Have you tried the new Authorization Manager?Tony Ostinato wrote:IK's authorizer just crashes here so i cant run any of their stuff.
How long has this been going on for?
Since you bought it, or is a system upgrade causing it?
Have you opened a support ticket?

Yes, I know that V3 is the sucessor to V3. I also know that the Univibe thingamajic in V3 could potentially have been improved in V3 compared to V2 - that is why I asked after all.redshift factor wrote:

And yes, the answer to the question what is different between them would be the answer to the question what is different between them - you are really spot on about that

I'm jumping in late on this topic but I thought I would throw out another option. The free Mr. Donald rotary speaker simulator from Gsi sounds pretty incredilble. Given that the Univibe was designed as a rotary speaker emulation itself your might find that a rotary speaker VST will give you the sound you are going for.
Here's a free chain I've been using recently for guitar for amplifier/rotary speaker emulation. This chain is a lot of fun to play through. It's very responsive dynamically:
Blockfish>LeXTAC>LeCab2>Mr. Donald>Omniverb>FerricTDS
I don't think Omniverb is available anymore since Jeroen Breebaart updated all of the free plugs to a $20 commercial package. But you can stick your reverb of choice in there.

I hear that the Tracks rotary is so good it rivals Neo's ventilator and that one is actually endorsed by Hammond/ Suzuki who makes leslie. I was listening to the two side by side and I favor the ventilator slightly more but since you can do presets with the IKMM rotary and control it via midi that one wins IMHO. The univibe is one of those things you probably need to spend thousands of dollars on to get an accurate original sound but there are some in the under $500 to mid $300 range that get so close I would be happy with them. R Weaver makes a few, Sabadius and Pedal Pawn's gypsy vibe and there is always Eric Johnsons company since he bought Shin Ei and his tech makes sir Henry. Some think very highly of the Dry Bell and Retrovibe as well. I may snag a midnight vibe or violet vibe from R Weaver but I also have helix native and it has a decent enough Univibe in it. The amplitube model is probably okay and you can snag it in their shop without having to buy the whole amplitube software package so its not as expensive as you think. You can download some of the amps and FX free to open an IKMM account and then purchase whatever components you wish to buy on an individual basis but there are other options that are more costly. The website is something I have been looking at and I will post it here if I can find out where things are explained better.
