Octopus causing HIGH CPU activity

Hello there, I am experiencing some amazingly high CPU strain, resulting in the fizzing and dying of my audio output in Ableton Live and in Studio One.

My project is sitting on 18% CPU (with about 10 plugs going) and I add Octopus, which is a MIDI pattern of 16th notes (arp)... Octopus then causes the CPU to rise over a period of 2 seconds or so until the audio stream dies, with the crackling and the bitcrushing and the OWCH :(

I have the last version of Live, the latest Studio One demo, and the latest version of Octopus...

ALSO, can somebody please guid me to a/some video tutorials/demos for Octopus, I'm definitely not a newbe, but I'm often scratching my head with this synth, just navigating to the correct envelope is a mission sometimes, I don't know why...

Thank You!

P.S. I'm using XPSP3, i7-720QM Processor 2.8GHz. I generally don't have any CPU troubles at all with this machine. Generally, if I hit anywhere near the ceiling in my biggest projects I'm running over 30 VSTis and a shedload of effects. And that's generally hovering just over 50% CPU...

Would it be some kind of denormal problem? or something to do with the release phase of the envelope?... It's pretty crazy.

Yep, from your description I guess you just have an enormous release, when combined with the arp it can produce many many simultaneous voices, try reducing the release time. There is no video but the manual, please mail me if you dont have it
