There's so many great tunes here this month, voting is always so hard. So many hooks, so many feelings....what a great comp!
I notice that I got mentioned a few times, thank you!
When I first posted I couldn't tell if it sucked or not, I was being a bit risky with experimentation. I kinda liked it, but you know how that sometimes goes. You turn around and you might be the only one groovin'.

wow, before I uploaded that piece I'd listened to it and worked on it for quite a while using headphones... I got used to the singing and really heard the vocals "fit" but hey, the next day I listened to it with fresh ears, I realised my singing is way out of tune...
However, I decided to go on with it, because I really like the chord structure, so here's another try with that theme, it isn't finished yet, I'm still working on it.

Lots of great work out there this month. My high marks & votes list has 12 entries on it.
Here are reviews of those 12, in no particular order.
mr-me-be_ok seething moody thing with terrific vocals... reminds me of tricky's early works... I have to hunt down more of your songs.
donkeyt_nonfunctional terrific driving bob mould rockin stuff... mebbe needs a hook or two more, or a middle bit if you extend this and have the time. Great stuff as always from the resident pack animal.
SleekMonth_Have_it_all nothing 70s about this to my ears... it's a heckuva lot better than that. No matter how much I fought it, it wormed its way into my brain... solidly performed and professionally produced.
TennesseeVic-FlyWeft production is admittedly rough, but there's so much good stuff going on here, it doesn't matter. You've rekindled my interest in that smoky jazz lead guitar sound.. I'm going to have to get my archtop set up properly and (gasp) give some solos a shot.
Ixox_L_Etau_Se_Ressert wow, this one's as unique as your entry last month. Shades of stereolab, and maybe some sort of torch song thing a la Edith Piath. This just begs to be followed up with a snappy up-tempo instrumental.
markleford_cellotrio lovely little tune, with sweet cello sounds. I have to chart what you're doing here with the harmonic movement... that modulation of the main theme in the middle is wicked.
Liqih_Clarion_Raga_Club Whoa nelly, that's great stuff. I love how you're capturing the vibe and energy of raga music with modern instruments. Great choice of sounds (they're you're own instruments, eh?).
beardedone-Routing You're making my head spin again.. groovy fun jazz fusion stuff I couldn't imagine composing. I think my brain works in quarter notes at about 80 bpm.
utm-hailmary reminds me a lot of Broadband Sally from a few comps back... some sort of Rolling Stones, Meat Puppets, and 80s pop amalgum. This is a great track with a lot of sophistication in the lyrics and instrumentation. Very well played with loads of energy and style.
VitaminD_blank I dug out that Early Undergroup Moby compilation record, and indeed this would be right at home there. Nicely thumpy and energetic, and there's something refreshing and fun about the lead theme that comes in about halfway through.
digitalstasis groovy! I love the stop and start stuttering beats because when the bass synth comes in there's so much contrast it's just fantastic. The quiet muted trumpet part in the background is the highlight for me.... and you're so unafraid to leave silence in between bits of the tune. Good work!
tristeza-LoveHer Terrific composition and lovely instrumentation... the warbly lead jumps very nicely around the background harmonies in big steps. I'd really like to hear this without the heavy tube limiting.
