yes, they are replaceable, i never used them again and finally i'll never buy anything else from this company.planet ugh wrote:I also moved on.aircargo wrote:I have kind of moved on... I'm a t-racks singles owner and bought a new DAW last month (i7 980x) and haven't even bothered installing them. If they come, maybe I'll re-discover them.
None of my IK products is installed on my new system.
Sampletank, Amplitube 3 and the TRacks have been replaced by contenders who already are 64 bit. Only IK plugin I sometimes miss is Opto.
thinking about it, I might as well sell some of my licenses, since I don't wanna install c/r software anymore anyhow.
IK Multimedia 64bit ?

I don't know what to say.
In fact since I fell sucker to this whole "computer music" addiction I've seen promises broken so frequently, I think in some ways I'm just desensitized to it.

While that's appreciated, it's not entirely true. X64 has been pimped for a long time with the official comments on this board from Peter that it was a lower priority to new products like groovemaker, amplitube, etc.

Don't forget their iPhone apps. I suspect this product line alone is responsible for pushing back 64 bit a few months.aircargo wrote:While that's appreciated, it's not entirely true. The good news about that is there are now a bunch of drivers around here now happily shredding or rapping as the drive. Not many are very good at either but it helps keep them distracted from less important things like driving

No. We have a separate 10 person development team dedicated to mobile apps.flugel45 wrote:Don't forget their iPhone apps. I suspect this product line alone is responsible for pushing back 64 bit a few months.
The pro-audio dev team is still focused on DAW software as ever.

Well Peter did say that x64 would come after new product launches. I was just speculating on which ones. Guess it was just amplitude. It befuddled me as to why IK was acknowledging the importance of x64 but cranking out a big x86-only release.
Better late than never.

That's one way to spin it.aircargo wrote:While that's appreciated, it's not entirely true. X64 has been pimped for a long time with the official comments on this board from Peter that it was a lower priority to new products like groovemaker, amplitube, etc.
But the reality is that we have kept an eye on the market, and at a certain point, we made the commitment to port to 64-bit, and it has been full speed ahead since. This is what Peter has conveyed.
64-bit is important to many of our pro-audio users, and to many of us at IK Multimedia, as well. We are all musicians and engineers here, and we all use IK products. I have been relying IK Multimedia software for many years before ever joining the team.
So the importance of 64-bit is not lost on us. But it does take time to port. It is essentially like opening up another development platform. We do need to prioritize in a logical and orderly fashion, which is why you will be seeing AmpliTube x64 followed by T-RackS x64. There is a roadmap we have in place for moving forward methodically, and these updates will be doing more than just adding 64-bit support...

I should clarify, we have a 10-person team dedicated to mobile apps, but not all of them are doing the development.

That's why I'm wondering what's up here. Thrilled about AT3 being 64bit. But I'm using AT 3.02, Peter said "major update" and "several weeks" so you'd think there would be an announcement about what you guys are intending to do here.Brian @ IK Multimedia wrote:We do need to prioritize in a logical and orderly fashion, which is why you will be seeing AmpliTube x64 followed by T-RackS x64. AT3 is really great and still very young, so why aren't you guys releasing any info about the 3.5 release? There could be something in there that might convince some people to hold off buying a "rival" product.
Just sayin'.
Which means give me, an owner, info!

Well, I stand corrected, then.Brian @ IK Multimedia wrote:No. We have a separate 10 person development team dedicated to mobile apps.flugel45 wrote:Don't forget their iPhone apps. I suspect this product line alone is responsible for pushing back 64 bit a few months.

Hm, a ten person team for just mobile apps?
I suggest you "borrow" three of those guys and put them with the other two currently on DAW software. That should speed things up nicely.
