Don't know if many of you care a lot about writing lyrics, but the past few years I've been taking it more seriously. I just got MasterWriter for Christmas.

I have to say, it has been more helpful than I thought it would. It takes some of the tedium out of working on lyrics and has made it more fun. It's helped me get "unstuck" and allowed me to work longer periods without getting frustrated.

There's video tour that give a pretty good overview.

I think I'll be using this software a lot. It's on sale right know, in case you interested.

Hee hee! Thanks for taking this thread to a higher level.

Actually MasterWriter hasn't helped my masterbator related frustration. Although I am looking for something to rhyme with Nantucket.

I've been using MasterWriter for years and it is very good. You can also upload your songs for time stamp purposes.

Yeah, it's a nice added bonus and it's free with the program. You can post an audio file along with the lyrics. In the unlikely event that someone would actually rip-off one of my songs and make money from it , I'd have some proof of the original creation date.

A shame they don't seem to offer a proper (British) English dictionary

I'd be tempted, but I suspect that a lot of the 'phrases' are very Americanised and whilst that's fine if you want an American 'feel' to your lyrics, I don't.

Hmmm. I see what you're saying. But I thought most pop music was "Americanized" to certain extent. But I know that's not alwys true.

So far I haven't really used many of the phrases or rhymes suggested. It just sort of gets my brain unstuck and helps me come up with my own ideas.

Just out of interest, how much was MasterWriter when it was on sale? I only ask as $200 (or $180 with PRS discount) is a lot of money to me at the moment, and if they are likely to offer a significant discount on the software again I can probably wait for it :)

Masterwriter is currently on sale now for Cakewalk users. How does it compare to Tunesmith?
