I think he certainly has his moments, good ear for a melody. Tubular Bells in particular, pretty much the opposite of a lot of other prog rock from that time, simple repetitive motifs and all that. Maybe even influenced by the minimalists like glass and reich?

As for the video, am I seriously out of the loop to admit I haven't heard of one of those groups?
