Hello.

It has been a long time since I have posted music here.

And in this sense, this album may seem to be a ripoff, as it has technically been posted here before. But the post in question had too much stuff in it, and the album's link was lost amidst a bunch of other stuff.

The album is in honor of Edwin Armstrong, the sad but brilliant man who invented most of the important circuits used in radio. Track 18 in particular (i.e. about 22:46) is dedicated to Armstrong, and the vocal samples are from a broadcast from his own FM station right after he died (and right before the station went off the air).

The album is quite chaotic, with styles ranging from pop to prog to chamber music to DnB in 7/4 time. All of the sounds (other than the spoken word samples) were made either by myself (John Gump) or by my long time band mate (Charles Schlee), though the final product is my fault and my fault alone. There are a few songs that might be familiar, but most of the material is here being released for the first time.

The album is about 30 minutes long. To hear it in its proper, gapless, form you can listen to it here. If you want the convenient broken-up-into-discrete-songs version, you can get the zip file here. Be warned that unless you have a media player than supports the gapless playback of mp3 files there will be some unintended and inelegant breaks where there should be seamless transitions.

Thanks all.

Congratulations for this release !
This is a cool piece of work. I'm halfway through it, and I enjoyed the music, very creative and original style. So many different kind of music well blended.

Cheers

Yeah, I haven't been around much lately. Life has kind of sucked lately, and I am trying to move in to web development full time, which is a lot of work (e.g. a crash course in javascript nearly turned me into a zombie, but I got better....I think).

See you around...and thanks!

A humble bumpie... I haven't find a quiet half hour for listening until now. Just wanted to say that it's a keeper, very fine set, I like it a good deal, congratulations.

Hey guys, thanks!

I spent 100+ man hours making the compilation, not to mention the time involved in making the individual songs.

So it's good to know that someone is listening.

Life has really kind of sucked recently (Maternal death and loss of employment within a month of each other), so there is very little music in my soul. Luckily between my mate Charles and I we have terabytes worth of material that has already been recorded, so I can sort of 'live off my hump' creatively so to speak.

Thanks again.

This is very cool. While being distinctly its own, it reminds me of several other artists. (oops, double post)

What seems to be the problem?

I was, well, shall we say, tipsy, and I replied to mrblitz000 second post as if it were a new post.

I edited the post down to the 'help' emoticon, but for some reason, it didn't show up as an edit.

Or, to answer your question in one word, "Beer".

Post

lol...

I did the first reply, then must have clicked back one or two clicks, to the editor again. Then, whilst going off and surfing other sites in other windows, I promptly forgot that I'd already replied. Upon returning to the editor, I thought something like, "oh man you always say 'cool'... say something else," so I re-edited and posted (again), then only a day or two later did I realize that the original had also gone through. Anyway, it is a 'cool' album isn't it?
