comments on my top 10 in a popular horoscope format:

Anakha – Your journey will lead you not to be sued by Metallica for recording a guitar riff similar to one of their own. Solid recording efforts will continue for you with less noise from the wires. Meatloaf will play a role in your future; it is unclear if this be the food or the man.

Donkey T – A fine combination of vocals and chord progression will continue to please the world which you know. You will find yelling near the end of music playing a fond addition. Contrary to popular beliefs, chickens will rob you blind.

Dr. Apostrophe X – A moose will dance in your backyard to your music. A sax player will pledge his friendship to you. Follow opportunities that will lead you to muffins.

Ixox – You and your life partner will continue to send chills to zombies listening to you outside your door. This will please most everyone. A plague will befall your beloved elk.

Liqih – You will grow louder as you enter the fourth and fifth minute of your song continues. Small nods of enjoyment from spectators will please you. A man will offer you three magic beans for three waxed beans.

Markleford – Solemn sounds from your composing mind will fill the future in a promising way. You will receive valuable coupons in the mail.

Multree – Fine recording efforts will be followed by lyrics intended to make people smile more. A reference to sounding similar to old Toad the Wet Sprocket albums should be pleasing to you. Old men who moon your home should be ignored.

Normal – All noises made within your home will be set to music and sound fine. You will continue to compose thoughtful sounds until the day in which you are abducted by aliens; future unclear from there.

O’Malley – You will feel the wrath of an angry James Earl Jones for belittling the phone company for which he holds strong feelings for. Many will smile at your efforts to entertain. A fox will be found in your garden.

Sleekmonth – A better, poppy-er song will be far from your ears for a long time. You will refrain from turning yourself around during the hokey pokey.

although Ixox does not live in Louisiana, before the horoscope post it never occurred to me to use a zombie for a salt-crust grill ... a quail would be about the right size

as for normal, if the aliens haven't met him yet, I think it would be a question of who abducts whom

as for me, I have a bald patch that makes trimming my neckline difficult

as for your track: Jars of Clay versus NIN? no wonder I was mystified  but I did play it 2 or 3 times :)

----------------

earlier I had doubts about the blind voting, because I did like to see tracks that I admired also get recognition from others, but this is turning out well with the mysterious HM's which might or might not include the poster's top 5

surprisingly, I somewhat agree with some of the things Regulation Phoenix said:

if people are not using VSTi's, they should at least mention whatever VSTfx's they are using ... let's not forget the KvR remit!

and while I wouldn't want space-ambience excluded, I'm not sure it would do well as a contest theme -- in a way the entries could be hard to tell apart, but that is the challenge of that form: how to make it distinctive and memorable -- or maybe not ... with that form maybe we would consider drift and shift

Thank you to everyone who commented on, or even listened to my song. I wish I had time to comment on all the entries, but I have to study for a music theory test. :( maybe I will tommorow. I will say that there were a lot great entries, and there are a lot of creative people here. :)

Here are reviews on tunes i find something to say about (i included those who reviewed me).
Of course add "to my taste" every where...

Wilkoryte : Great old fashion rock&roll ! Funny lyrics...

Anakha : Nice oriental heavy guitare... many heavy metal cliché but it works.

Multree : yes it is melancholic... nice and commercial song. Too commercial ?

Mr.Me : nice loads of effects but you keep minimal arangement which i like... The result is opressant, interesting and sounds good...

Sleek Month : Good guitare, good vocals, good mix, good sound, good melody...

Mystar : nice rythm. Interesting sound. Don't know if it's what you want, but i fell a main lead is missing (and a bass).

Donkey Tugger : good DT song. I'd like more dynamic in the vocals. good use of the m-tron choir (choir ?).

Emerald tablet : the one with the vocals is great. something is missing in this one.

You Tm : very fresh, very catching melody... i like it a lot.

windChillFactor : the very dark side of me recognize itself in this song. I love what happens at 1'09...

MrMe : nice style. The use of the stereo and effects sounds experimental but it works.

Plunge : cool... i like very much the rythm. but don't like the drum sound.

Wopelka : without the high voice. I would have dislike it. now i find it very funny and well executed.

Dr Apostrophe X : more cathing melody of the month... nice tune.

rsmus7 : Haunting whispering voice. Weird and interesting mood. I would have liked to hear other sentances.

Garret : The first time i listened to it, i thought this was going to be the first Garret song i don't like. I was wrong, after several times i really LOVE it !

O'malley : great idea. great tune.

Smart : why do i like this one ? don't know but i do like it... maybe it reminds my first computer games music.

Jedubas : rather nice song but i would like it more with less reverb on the voice and with a better piano accompagnment.

havran : I think this one is rather good in this abstract/ambience style but it is too minimalist (needs more stuff to listen to).

OT question : is Emil-A-Man and CaptainMark the same person ?

40 minutes that my vote is still i my outbox... Rob, is it normal ?

Arrrrrrgghhh... To many outstanding entries this month. If you go back and listen to the entries from a year ago, you can only hear how much they've improved.

Which makes voting too hard. We can't just say we'll all winners?

Thanks for all the kind words!
