I don't care about that stuff, I am more into the humbucker sized p-90s, I find the tone thicker than on regular humbuckers for the lead pickup (can't say much about real p-90s because I've never tried them).

trippy!

those necks are too close together for me, I like the concept tbh but if one was to playing on the first few frets of the tele neck the Les Paul headstock would get in the way (imo). I think it would play better if the thinner headstock was on the bottom

True enough Hink, I never really noticed that till you pointed it out, I was just  at the idea behind it.

Uncle E wrote: Thanks for cluing me in to all this! From what I've found from further digging, all the positions are fine except for position 3, which seems to have very little to do with what's promised. Fortunately, all this digging brought me to the Megaswitch M and that seems perfect for both you and I:

Hi Eric,
thanks, this has to be relatively new, a Super Switch with Megaswitch quality - cool ! Especially the 8 tier version they threaten to build for Hink's baritone ! :P
With these switches the sky's the limit as you can treat each coil individually.

CapnLockheed wrote:I've been wanting to check out one of these new Vox's for a while. Everything I've read about this guitar sounded very favorable and I've always been a huge fan of nearly all things Vox. The trans teaburst finish over ash is simply stunning...the pictures don't begin to do it justice! The neck is slim and fast..a bit like an SG. The new co-axe pickups are AMAZING!! They're sort of like P-90's combined with humbucker blades. All three elements of each pup can be separately tapped and each pup has it's own three-way switch to do so....get the picture? Three-way pickup selector plus two three-way coil splitter switches adds up nearly unlimited tonal possibilities. All that being said.....I'm not sure that I'm going to keep her. While she is undoubtedly one of the finest guitars I've ever had, I'm just not sure that's she's the "one".

Cheers......CapLock
Interesting guitar !
If they start making one with a fatter neck I'll definitely take a closer look. :tu:
Thanks for the detailed report !

The P-Rail gives you both.

I actually saw him play that thing live with Roth back then, very musical, still my favourite Vai era, tied with Flexable.

Not my "next guitar" but I'm starting to look into pickups for the indo S.

EMGS are out, it would require too much in the way of mods. It's an H-S-H (which I've come to hate!) so the middle has to come out, I'll replace that with a solid PUP cover and put two buckers in with a three way switch.

Still trying to figure out wiring thought

what are you having problems figuring out?

Speaking of wire, I found a good place for wire online http://www.hobbyengineering.com/ I bought 6 25' spools of 24 gauge stranded PVC insulated (red, white, black, blue, green and brown) for a new project and for stock purposes.

I buy guitar wire like braided, 4 conducter and such from mojo but this place was a pretty good deal (2.99usd a spool and 6 bux shipping)

I don't even know how to explain it other than the dimarzios are 4 conductor and apparently have the ability to "coil split"? I don't want that. I want a 3 way selector and a neck/both/bridge setup. I'll need a tone pot and a volume pot (maybe depending on the ohmage ) and I'll keep the jack I have.
