Geez, you folks can't be pleased with ANYTHING! You always want more, and more, and more, and more! You're friggin polyps!
I better keep my mouth shut and rather discuss with Steven directly. Saves me all the drama here on KVR.

Well despite my earlier criticism of the offer if already owning an iLok2. I went and ordered anyway (no special offers, couldn't wait). This is a good value bit of kit and I can hear it's going to be used a lot in productions no doubt!
With the USD vs GBP it worked out at £158 total
If I decide to flog on the ilok then so be it (maybe £20-30+P&P on ebay).
This is going to be appearing a lot of my projects. I like what this does to the sound. Been playing with Waldorf PPG3 this week, getting to know it and the VCC Strip is really lifting the sounds in the mix. Well, to my ears anyway.
Go get it. It's a bargain even you have to buy the iLok. Almost hope no one buys it so just a few of us benefit from it's secret, but then I am guessing that is just not going to happen now. Haven't felt like this about a plugin since discovering Nebula last year.
Peace

Why the disrespectful answer when I was just trying to point out something I read and take as serious because it was said by the developer himself? It doesn't matter if he said it 6 months ago, the word of a company/man/woman should be taken seriously (at least I do) and it's preserved in time unless he/she notifies a change for compelling reasons. In this case I haven't seen Slate write the contrary, so far.Compyfox wrote:That was in OCTOBER 2010!

If I remember correctly, Fabrice said also in the video "making of VCC" something about other/additional emulations in 2011.

The Video Tutorial will have a .zip file of the hi res files for comparison.. and we'll also be launching the VCC Audio Demo page which will have hi res "before and afters". If you'd like to contribute to that page, please send links to vccdemo@stevenslate.com
We're going to continue the ilok2 promo till the end of the week.

Whatever VCC does, it is magic! Something I cant reproduce using any Saturator, Multiband Compressor, Tape or Tube emulation (Insert your favourite brand here). 'Adding stuff' to a bus is magic with VCC. Thanks Steve!!

I'd LOVE to know what it actually does 'behind the scenes'! It does 'something' after adding signals, but what?? Sound levels can be pushed hard and it sounds amazing. It *feels* analog!

I think you will find instead of emulating or convulting the summing process, they have taken the whole signal route in the desks, including the the pre and post analogue processing to emulate the full signal path...I may be wrong, but that's my novice vibe of what the VCC is doing under the hood. Still...I like it.dalor wrote:I'd LOVE to know what it actually does 'behind the scenes'! It does 'something' after adding signals, but what?? Sound levels can be pushed hard and it sounds amazing. Certainly doesn't appear as laggy as Nebula, but i've only had a few hours playing with VCC and trying to sort out an issue with the Brit SSL setting. Looking forward to some speculation of other modules...maybe EQ and Strips. Will take a bit to move me away from Nebula mammoth and Pulteq ^^

Really glad people are digging what this is doing! We've spent so many hours ensuring that this does what we claim it to do. Its been so great for my own workflow now that I don't mix through the desk. Poor old guy is just an oversized monitoring and cue send machine now!

Dude..u really need to take a deep breath..why are you so personally involved in this? Relax, you've totally taken it upon yourself to fight someone else's fight defending at every turn a product that you didn't even develop ..step awaaaay....Sorry...I don't wanna appear combative but seriously I'm usually good at just passing over other people's less than mild "contributions" but this is getting ridiculously un-ignorable.Compyfox wrote:That was in OCTOBER 2010!
