I own EWQLSO Silver and I'm thinking about getting this to compliment it, mainly for the woodwind sections and tuba section, because Silver only comes with solo woodwinds and a solo tuba with one articulation, limiting how long they can hold long tones. Also, I like that it comes with Ooh and Ah choirs, as Silver only came with Ah choirs. Think this is a good idea? At only 15 dollars, I don't see how I could pass it up.

Also, Samplemodeling's saxes sound pretty good in the demos. I haven't gotten those yet, though.

Oh yes, we bribed the EU parliament and lobbied the American senate, there'll be a law soon, forbidding any passable sax samples he heDarkStar wrote:It's clearly a conspiracy by the World Order of Saxophonists (and Lizards)kcisANDderit wrote:like saxophone, a good one doesn't exist in any library, solo or in a mix

This is happening to me, too. I can't see SampleTank and Miroslav in Cubase 6 at all, except when I'm running it as admin, then I can see them as fx.morphtec wrote:Am I really the only one who does not get the plugin to work? I can open the stand alone version (only when I run it as administrator, which is strange because no other programm needs that special treatment) ... but the plugin won't even show up in cubase ...
What an utter nonsense from either Steiny or IK.
btw., I'm kinda getting fed up with IK's authorization management and things not working properly for the LEGIT user (while my friends use cracks without problems).

[For info]
On Windows 7 and Vista, IK Multimedia standalone products and DAWs hosting the plugins require the program to be run "as Administrator" so that they can access the Preferences, Presets (combis) and other files (which are normally installed into a sub-folder in the ...\Program Files folder).
Windows 7 and Vista are designed to restrict access to that folder (and to others and certain Registry keys too).

Why don't they put presets in another folder then, rather than relying on running things as admin?
Btw, the issue of Miroslav being recognized as fx and thus unusable is really odd.

Cubase users - I had exactly that problem last year but IK support sorted it out for me
In order to get Sampletank to run with Cubase both applications need to be run as administrator, the sample libraries have to be installed exactly where the program suggests at installation - then it should show up as VST instrument rather than Fx
It did work just fine in the end so I hope this solves it for you too

I just had to re-install everything after an operating system re-install.soulata wrote:Why don't they put presets in another folder then, rather than relying on running things as admin?

When I installed Sampletank it showed up in Reaper as an effect.
Odd, it wasn't that way before.
I did a re-install and now it's OK.

hm ... I think I'll not even try to reinstall it ... I'm kinda fed up already. Not really worth it.
But I actually managed to route a MIDI track to PhilharmonikCE (loaded as an FX in an audio track) after all ... try that, it works ... it's just odd and inconvenient.

it doesn't. You can install them almost anywhere you want.morphtec wrote:I'm not going to let IK decide where I store my friggin libraries! Ha!
:]
Try running the Installer "as Administrator" too.
