Just bought VCC. Having all kinds of problems just to get it to open in Cubase (windows xp).
Had no problem downloading it to the ilok I've always had.
I start up Cubase6 (does the same thing in Cubase 4 also, by the way) and I get a prompt telling me to "insert an authorized ilok"?? Cubase is running off the same ilok as are my other plugins. So I pull the ilok out and put it back in, it finds the necessary drivers again, I click "ok" on the prompt but the "insert authorized ilok" window keeps coming back up. What is it talking about? Di I have to have ilok "2?"
Very frustrating.
Would appreciate some help. Gonna also hit up Slate Digital support but thought maybe others had the same issue and might respond quicker.
Thanks

You need iLok 2. Where did you buy it cause it's specifically
reads * ILOK2 DONGLE REQUIRED AND INCLUDED at the Slate shop.

1) as Lenticular said: You need an iLok 2.
2) Install the latest iLok drivers, then restart your machine.

Thanks alot for responding Lenticular.I thought I'd read that it needs "a" ilok.
I guess I missed that. Hopefully, I should be able to transfer the vcc license from my old ilok to the ilok2 when it gets here since I already downloaded the VCC license to my old ilok. Seems strange to buy the console, install it then have to wait days for the ilok2 so I can use it. Am I missing something here?

Thanks for the confirmation dalor. I screwed up. Guess I'll have to wait till the dongle gets here.

You'll be able to easily transfer all of your old ilok1 licenses to your new ilok2 when it arrives so you'll conserve space :)

Thanks Steve. Now I can relax. Looking forward to adding the VCC to the FG-X I bought the other day which is killer. Should make for a great setup.

Having just bought VCC and now downloading, I notice that there are two updates available in the Download section - 1.05 and 1.06.

Is there any reason to apply 1.05 before going to 1.06? If not, why is 1.05 still up? A bit confusing for a simple mind… ;-)

My guess is just in case people have issues with 1.06, they can roll back to 1.05?

That would be my guess.

Each update tells you to replace the current .dll's so I would imagine each update incorporates the previous updates so I would just go ahead and instead the latest update over the original version.

Thanks! You both make sense, koolkeys and dblock.
