yes ... but I have the "PhilharmonikCE shows up as an FX and not as an VSTi"-Bug ... to which IK apparently suggests to install the library and the plugin itself to where the Installer wants to install them at default ...
Or will it work properly as an VSTi (and let me decide where to store the library) when I run the installer as admin?
And which installer are you refering to - the library or the plug itself?

it doesn't. You can install them almost anywhere you want.

Try running the Installer "as Administrator" too.

I would really love to get this, but I have a couple questions: Is it superior to the HALion Sonic Symphonic Soundset (which) is 16-bit, and second: Do I have to have sampletank to run it? From my understanding, I can simply download this standalone, but I may be wrong. Looking forward to the answers to my questions, especially the second one.

EDIT: Third question: Would I be able to upgrade to the full version later on? I can't find any such option at the moment.

I have been this day configuring windows 7 to use as daw. UAC has make thing complicated, but im almost there.
I have been testing things and i made a very little arrange using MiroslavCE Clarinet and Orchestra string performance 1, the Tascam CVPiano free, the Soprano of Sampletank free and the DimensionLE GPO pizzicatos. Ah, and using Glaceverb!

I went ahead and ordered it about 12 hours ago. Still waiting for the serial email... I hate being impatient when waiting for new toys. :?

got my serial number pretty fast, and the authorization was about as simple as it gets. i like the new authorization manager. i just installed the software, then opened up the auth manager and typed in the serial number. done.

works great with Logic. the samples sound pretty nice (except on the timbales which are laughable, and the snare rolls). first impression on the strings is that there is too much vibrato (which is the same every time), but I'm hoping that as I get deeper into it I'll find a way to make it work. did a little string section with a song that is electronic drums, vibes, clean guitar and a couple of old synths and they fit in nicely with the track (much nicer than they sounded when I auditioned them without any music playing).

some very useable sounds here, worth the $15.

edit: meant to say timpani's, not timbale's.

I would run both Installers (and your DAW host) "as Administrator". IF you do install the Library where the Installer wants, then I reckon that you should be able to move it aftwerwards and tell the software where the new location is on the Preferences window.

I don't know about it showing up as an FX though.

These sounds are 16-bit too, I believe. You do not need SampleTank, you can install the Miroslav Philharmonik software (which is a skinned version of ST2) and use it standalone or as a plug-in.

Or you can install ST2 Free and its Library too and combine the 2 Libraries - you can load ST2 and MP instruments into ST2.

I did all of the above (reinstalled everything as admin, and ran Cubase as admin) to no avail.

IT's still listed as fx in Cubase 6 and I don't think (even if the workaround works) this is a viable solution. I mean, damn plugins should register and run just fine without trickery and admin right going on. Or it should at least be stated in bold writting - OUR PLUGINS RUN UNDER ADMIN RIGHTS ONLY -

I got it. It did not blow me away, but some of the sounds are really useful (esp. strings). But I get clicks, that I've experienced nowhere else. Is there any troubleshooting for these kinds of issues?

(Ok, I saw another user with the same issue. Seems to deal with multi-cores and only when you use more then one instance. Which I would like to be able to do. Seems like I will have to send in a bug-report.)

No answer to this, but I got it anyway and can confirm the browser triangles/scroll bar hell is there, as is a small GUI although not unreadably small like Sampletank. It's a mystery why it has to have a tiny browser and no mouse wheel support when there's plenty of screen space used for graphic candy nothings, and mouse wheel works with other VSTs.

Everything installed and works well, though it bugs having to install a separate authorizing program for a $15 program. There were also some fishy entries during install according to my uninstaller.

And like already said, not blown away by the sounds, but some are useful. I don't have the clicks despite multicore and multiple instances.

But I got an email saying I can only authorize this 4 more times, what does this mean exactly? That if I change any hardware or OS, I have to re-authorize and too many of those and it expires?

if you run out of authorizations just ask IK for more. it's typical pita IK procedure

Well day 2 of trying to get this to work. Installed everything as admin, to the default directories...

I always have to contact tech support when I install IK anything (they're fast at responding and very cool) and I'm just angry at myself for giving myself an unnecessary headache. It will get sorted out though.

I pray that when AT3.5 drops I don't have these problems, because if I do I'll really start complaining/criticizing then.
