If you say so, it must be right... especially since nothing was set in stone.
And funny though that I wasn't the only one commenting on a possible demo.
But sure, take my word for granted. Someone has to be the black sheep among the bunch.
I feel seriously sorry for you people...
No really, I do.

I think so. If you think i am not it's because I was responding to some semantic guyCompyfox wrote:I am on topic.

Anyway..Slate does decreased CPU you are mentioning in new build means less quality sound or you guys managed to pull same quality with less CPU consumption?
What about two additional console models? Will they find their way into VCC update or this is planned for VCC2?

I certainly hope not and I think Slate has mentioned on several occasions that optimizations will be made so that it won't compromise the sound quality!kmonkey wrote: Anyway..Slate does decreased CPU you are mentioning in new build means less quality sound or you guys managed to pull same quality with less CPU consumption?
circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

Just buy the damn thing. If it's not worth it sell it on, you wont but you have that option. It's priced cheaply enough for what it offers and achieves. I know this plugin will get better and I can foresee more modules/add-ons in the future. Be mad not too.
Here in UK works out at £160 including a £40 dongle...do the maths this is a no brainer. TBH I believe it should be put up in price
It's too cheap...
...on the other hand. Dont buy it. It's a free world of choice and indecision

That's good news! I don't have to worry about getting rid of my money..bishop666 wrote:..keep the user base small, excluding many who are interested
It would be quicker to use the plugin for a little sound enhancement than tweaking a bunch of other plugins, tough. It would save about 20 minutes.
Edit: Ah I forgot it's with a dongle, so it's no already..

No, it's a lot of money.MFXxx wrote:Here in UK works out at £160 including a £40 dongle...do the maths this is a no brainer.
And from what I heard from this thing yet, the effect is so small, that it doesn't matter (also it's nothing special).

There'll be competitors soon. And they'll be better by quality means, more comfortable, offer more consoles, less cpu, etc.
And they will offer ilok2-free demos. That's the way technology is.
So don't worry. It is just the beginning
Take a look at the amp sim history. Someone had the idea, now there are infinite amps sims...

The code will just be optimized with very minimal setbacks. I trust Fabrice Gabriel in that section. I mean, hey... his main firm is Eiosis... and he insists on quality sound.
In alpha, there were actually seven consoles planned, which turned out to be a bit much work for an initial release. There's still another Brik 9k (around 90ies) planned, a RCA desk (early 60ies IIRC), and a Neo(tech). Or... I think I miss the "tubey" (8 consoles?) one... not sure atm which one that was...kmonkey wrote: What about two additional console models? Anyways...
A couple of users (myself included) also recommended more desks to port (in my case, another south-east british 60ies transfer console, yet another mid-west british end-90ies split console, once more a south-east british mid-2000 tube console, a German 60-80ies broadcast console, and one known/hated branch with consoles for "consumer" abuse).
According to mails with Steven from a couple of months ago, the VCC system is easy to upgrade. So I'd stay tuned what the future might bring additionally.
Finally I'm not completely alone anymore.MFXxx wrote:TBH I believe it should be put up in priceIt's too cheap...

There is a bit more to it than meets the eye. Since beta days, this plugin drasically changed in terms of sound and features. I think it sounds so "subtle" to a lot of listeners, since nobody really overdrives this thing (which results in very quiet nulling - with tests on my end, about -70dBFS artefacts - with BETA 2.5, the version before the iLok2/final). Either that, or people still focus on the old "beta" audio demos. On top of that, different audio material, different taste in terms of sound, different workflow, etc.Nokenoku wrote:And from what I heard from this thing yet, the effect is so small, that it doesn't matter (also it's nothing special).
The real strong points on VCC are IMO:
- channel drift (alters the internal circuity to let no channel sound/respond exactly the same)
- drive (even more "colorisation" of the sound on top of pushing the material into the headroom/softclip)
- the ability to mix and match (you can mix a Brit 4k from end 70ies if we talk E, with Brit N probably from the 80ies, and maybe add some "Poseidon's weapon" sound from the late 60ies to vocals)
If you run "optimum levels" or stick to the rules and not overdrive these consoles (as it is normal nowadays), no wonder you barely hear any difference. At least in my(!!!) personal opinion.
Then again, being subtle is actually not totally the case. Even the MIX BUSS plugin in default mode added as only VCC instance adds a lot to the sound. Granted, nothing that can't be done with <name-your-favourite-emulation> in this case if you only run "one" plugin (aka MIX BUSS only) - but the whole pack is what makes the difference. Maybe subtle to some of the users in here (aka the sceptical ones), but huge enough on the long run. Especially if properly calibrated, which the rest of your used plugins/tools might actually benefit from as well.
Again, personal opinion.
And a lot of advertising on top of it if I may add.
That comment made my day. Kudos to you, sir.dalor wrote:"Of course I won't buy an amazing plugin if its iLok protected! I prefer to spent hours of tweaking other non protected plugins - even if they don't sound anything like it!"
Exactly... some guys.Dr.Gunjah wrote:...some guys...
Speaking of SoundToys mayhaps?bishop666 wrote:There'll be competitors soon. And they'll be better by quality means, more comfortable, offer more consoles, less cpu, etc.
No, you don't speak of SoundToys... they don't offer ilok free demos. Neither does Acoustica Audio (unless 3rd Party devs offer presets for "free/demo")bishop666 wrote: And they will offer ilok2-free demos. That's the way technology is.
And I don't think that's the way "technology" is - trolling is more the case, and "open doors" for hackers. But then again, I agree to disagree.
So there you go. Satisfied your need for even more trolling.
