I'm pretty sure most of the comments (here and on youtube and elsewhere) are disparaging towards the SONG and generally sympathetic that she did the best she could given the treatment she was given by the producers.

I have a little less sympathy for her. she (or rather Mom and Dad) paid for the "opportunity" to sing this song. SOMEONE could have had some sense SOMEWHERE in this process and realized first off, it's WAY STUPID to pay some producer to put you in the music business, especially if he doesn't have good material. because you open yourself for exactly this kind of thing to happen.

f**k, my folks wouldn't even pay $2k for me to have a car when i was a teenager, i had to earn everything I got. and they could have but they were too busy spending my inheritance on houses and cars and food and doctors and dentists and college tuition. dicks!

er... ok, I admit you have a point (or two) here... I didn't think of that because when I was 13 I still wanted to be an astronaut

(at that time -- yes I'm that old -- the space race was at its peak and all that). The rock star idea only came later when I was around 17 and only materialized in a rock cover band later at 18... No money to throw away at recording studios, though... our dream back then was a mini-moog, that we never managed to afford...

Everyone's pouting that Rebecca Black made a hit song and is now incredibly famous? And she is laughing all the way to the bank.

Sounds like envy to me. Good on her I say. I'd be stoked to have parents that would have paid to produce a music video at that age.

I'm ragging on it because of it's obvious intent to be marketed as the new coca cola. It's so formulated it's just too sweet

Of course I commented positively on it at first......then actually watched the whole thing and realized it's just the worst
