On a positive note, she says she is donating all the money to Japan and charity

WOW!... That one was dramatic! With some distorted guitars it almost could be transformed into some kind of Jack Black version. :hihi:

I don't think it is just envy...envy of what? That parents put $2,000 in the hands of a 2 bit producer who had a song he wanted out? So someone else could get a pile of cash from it..and ironically  not the singer? Apparently she garnered $25,000 for her efforts...who got the money? Her? Doubt it...her parents? Most definitely....

I tend to think that as musicians we do tend to be a little more competitive in nature...like it or not...

Envy may, or may not, play that much of a role in this.

I guess you could be sour about her donating money to Japan, but that would be kinda, well - messed up.

Honestly, with everything I've seen/read about it - Rebecca Black stikes as a very awesome and noble person. More power to her.

probably not the parents neither(only a tiny bit i guess), ark gets probably 75% of it for writing/mechanical/publishing and she probably get 25 or less % for being the performer

ALright. I admit it. I'm envious of her songwriting ability, her amazing looks, her flair for language and mature, in-depth themes about humanity, her ability to stir that least-awakened part of a human-being - some might say 'soul', I simply say 'g0d'... I'm envious of all that she is and will ever be. But I am not envious of the fact that she left us all hanging - what comes after sunday? I mean, where's the end to that poignant chapter of my life? Huh?

KVR Bingo! I have KVR Bingo! someone said we were envious for bemoaning the success of someone who's less than deserving! w00000000t! BINGO! :hyper: :wheee:
Why is she less than deserving? Who's to say who "deserves" what in this world? The 'supreme ruler' Obama? The Pope? KVR?
The last one, duh.

oh yeah, i forgot, little rich kids should get everything they want without earning it if Mom & Dad can buy it for them. that sends a good message. i'm glad you approve of such a responsible message. :tu:

that and tay zonday didn't make bank of chocolate rain and she makes bank off this? yes. LESS. THAN. DESERVING. Does it smack of "the man"? I'm not suggesting that but er, OK, I am. Anyway, I believe it with every fiber in my soulless body. the invisible karmic centaurs will right this injustice of outrageous proportions, mark my words, when tay zonday is our president and rebecca black is doing cheesy porn to support her nyquil habit.

just remember who said it first.

and yes, i'm happy she donated the money to Japan, very nice of her after all those people suffered listening to her song... yes, finally the earthquake victims may get some relief thanks to her as long as they don't have to listen to her godawful song as some sort of prerequisite to getting the aid that is.
