Danke Urs!
Some questions: there are two Win versions, the "tyrelln6.dll" and the "tyrelln6(x64).dll"
1) the synth is the same, so it should be named the same, mainly for preset interchangeability between x32 and x64 versions. Otherwise, both dlls are different synths, especially regarding cubases Media bay...
Perhaps you distribute the equally named dlls in two folders, "vst2x32" and "vst2x64" instead of naming them differently?
Is it possible, to rename the dlls myself? I have two folders for vst dlls of the two architectures x32/x64.
The x64 Version (Not Renamed) doesn't find presets, Even though I copied the tyrell.Data Folder to both Folders x32 and x64.
Can you provide Short Technical infOrmation on where and how the dlls Search for necessary data? Where to put the Data Folder?

Well, you could just create a shortcut to a single TyrellN6.data folder and put it in the same directory as each .dll (it has to be renamed from "TyrellN6.data Shortcut" to "TyrellN6.data" though). In fact this is the preferred way of dealing with it so you can move TyrellN6.data into your write-enabled Documents location.TabSel wrote:Danke Urs!

If a host treats these two .dlls as different plugins, please file a bug report with the host developer. The plugin's internal Name string, Vendor string and UniqueID are identical. There is no rule defining the .dll name as an indicator for the plugin's identity. To the contrary, the features of the VST2 plugin standard rule the name of the binary out as such. You could rename them to A.dll and each properly coded VST host will still show TyrellN6 as the plugin name (I agree though that many hosts do shortcuts, hence I need to vent a bit)
Nevertheless, Tyrell's internal preset browser will still find the right presets from both versions. Provided the data folder/shortcut is in place.
As for separate installs of 32/64 bit, I rather find that overkill. I'd prefer to keep it in one download. There might be an installer though
Cheers,

Danke nochmals!
It's cubase itself, that scans the dlls and make the Plugin available as "tyrelln6(x64)" in its VSTi List...
I wondered, why reaper showed both dlls As "tyrelln6"...
I put the Data Folder in both Folders where the dll resides, but x64 did Not offer presets...

Hi Urs,
Just a quick shout-out about Tyrell. I have it working on a (Muse Research) Receptor, and it works just fine.
Nice Job!

I just uploaded a version with cosmetic fixes (no more colour toggling preset arrows, PW slider back in proportion). Same link

Urs,
I've been playing with this a bit. Very nice. Oscillators are completely alias free, all the parameters are nicely smoothed, and I can map aftertouch easily.
One thing that stood out was that you couldn't adjust osc 2 to be a lower pitch than osc1. That is a big deal for some of the FM based sounds.
The other thing: it wasn't entirely clear exactly what feedback was doing.

Hey Urs,
Loving the new feel of Tyrell so far!
Could you please consider making the text in the preset manager only a bit bigger (at least the patch info)?
I also did a sorta' ruff resizing (without changing the resolution) of the Tyrell slider making it a bit bigger and a bit more wider to resemble the Juno slider more.
So, if you like it and it isn't too much to ask, please consider this also.
Here's the slider: http://www.box.net/shared/0czcnx0mhz

Thanks 3ee, my head is exploding currently, but I'll see what I can do. My main concern is that sliders will overlap due to shadow which may create artifacts.

Me too. It's a burden of the past, implemented in that particular module in 2004 or so... switching to a knob might break compatibility with old presets and stuff in FilterscapeVA/Zebra/ACE...wwjd wrote:wish that DRIFT was a knob

Urs, it's OK, those suggrestions can wait "years to come"!Urs wrote:Thanks 3ee, my head is exploding currently, but I'll see what I can do. My main concern is that sliders will overlap due to shadow which may create artifacts.
As for slider resizing, I know what you are talking about... but I didn't change any resolution or size or ratio of the original image scale... I just stretched the visual content a bit and it works just like it did!
Please feel free to do not mind me for the moment as we can tell you are a busy and hardworking man!
Cheers for that!

Artifacts? We don't need no stinkin' artifacts!Urs wrote:Thanks 3ee, my head is exploding currently, but I'll see what I can do. My main concern is that sliders will overlap due to shadow which may create artifacts.
