We're going to be adding the VocaLive processors to the AmpliTube 2.2 update in a few weeks. So if you have the iRig and iRig Mic, you'll be able to do a nice little 4-track mix with electric guitars, vocals and other acoustic instruments, and backing tracks you import in. And there's unlimited track bouncing. Portable music-making has certainly come a long way from the old days of the Tascam Portastudio!

By "adding in" do you mean free, or in-app purchase? Apps like Amplitube will start becoming less and less relevant if you keep nickel and diming people, especially with apps like GarageBand available for $5. Just sayin'.Brian @ IK Multimedia wrote:We're going to be adding the VocaLive processors to the AmpliTube 2.2 update in a few weeks. GarageBand and AmpliTube have some things in common, like the 8-track recorder, but AmpliTube fills a different niche than GarageBand. GarageBand is more of a synth and "smart instrument" composition tool, while AmpliTube+VocaLive is geared more towards being a powerful effects processor built into a multitracker. Our apps and addons cost tens of dollars together, not hundreds, unlike DAW software. There is room for both apps on an iPad. They fit nicely together, and they compliment each other. And both AmpliTube and GarageBand work well with iRig and iRig Mic.

Check out this review of iRig Mic from Wired.com.

"If you're a guitarist looking to leverage the power of your iPhone or iPad for mobile effects or recording, you've long been able to use the iRig and AmpliTube app for iOS. Offering a suite of effects and amp models along with multi-track recording and master effects processing, AmpliTube has set the standard which other manufacturers, including Apple with the GarageBand app, try to meet. But if IK Multimedia has demonstrated one thing in the past nine months, it's that they never rest on their laurels. And their latest combo, the iRig Mic and VocaLive app do for vocals what the iRig and AmpliTube app did for guitarists."
